Now that he has been dropped again I'm glad that he wasn't brought straight back in. Although Marsh and Doolan aren't in the form he is in, I prefer him playing out the rest of the shield season, and then playing county cricket.

That would be much better for both Hughes and the Australian cricket team in the long run.

Plus if Marsh somehow gets himself into form at test level he's a beautiful batsman to watch.

I really dont know who else could bat at number 3 smith showed during the test coming in at 6 he can absorb pressure...number 3 is usually reserved for the best batsmen but with clarke at no.4 we really are low on options

As much as I want him at 6, Watson will bat at 3 in SA. Then you'll either have Doolan at 6, or Haddin at 6 with Faulkner at 7.
