I used to not like AmericaniZation, color and the like, but after teaching American English for like 10 years, now I really don't give a ****. It's a small difference, making a big deal about it is petty.

I feel the same way about most syntax, grammatical or spelling errors. Even the widely used substitution of your for you're and vice versa, the hypercorrection of using subject pronouns when object pronouns should be used (e.g. 'the gift was for Fred and I' ought to be 'the gift was for me and Fred') or not using the subjunctive mood when appropriate (e.g. 'I wish I was' ought to be 'I wish I were').

As long as there is full comprehension, shit like that don't matter.

Autocorrect is mostly responsible for those American spelling variations slipping in, in my experience. When it comes to all that though, grammar, spelling etc. I don't really give a shit, if you can understand the message it doesn't really matter.

The only things that annoy me on forums are the misuse of you're/your and there/their/they're. Though I tend to type very colloquially so i can't be upset about other people's mishaps.

It is not necessarily xenophobic to critique/disagree with aspects of another culture.

Don't think that's quite right. No-one is under any obligation to like anything, but when they angrily rant about things, unprovoked, that starts to cross over into xenophobia.

They don't look bad because they are far looser fitting than our jumpers, so there's actually room to fit the names. Even the NBA jerseys which are most akin to AFL jumpers fit the names better simply because they are a loose fit.

There is freaking heaps of room on the back of a footy guernsey. Hockey and netball do just fine with tight fitting, sleeveless uniforms. The Kangaroos jerseys here are probably as close to an AFL guernsey size and fit as there is and there is absolutely no issue.

The numbers on those are heaps smaller than ours and the font is far thinner than the samples we've seen for the AFL. So some (IMO) major adjustments would have to be made to AFL jumpers.

I've seen it as totally inevitable for several years now and i've come to accept it. About 5 games after it's brought in full time, nobody will care. Just like they don't with clash guernseys, just like they don't with coloured boots, just like they don't with sponsor logos, just like they don't with night football, just like they don't with everything.

I like it not having the names, it makes me feel cool when I know who each number is.
