Our owner spent to get us to a position where could compete, with consecutive 6th place finishes and an exciting team with players like Young, Milner, Downing, Barry, and Carew, then saw the Sheiks take what was already a money league to ridiculous levels, shrugged his shoulders and gave up. He slashed the wage bills and has basically been treading water for 5 years trying to reduce expenditure. If we'd just kept investing and stuck around the 6th mark, maybe we could have been the team that took advantage of down seasons from the big clubs and pinched a league title.

If we stay up (which we should), it looks like we're getting sold in the summer, hopefully to someone who has a bit of interest in improving us.

Is Vince McMahon still buying Newcastle? I'd kinda like to see a distracted referee miss someone jumping out of the crowd and hitting Simon Mignolet with a chair.

If you don't know then I can't explain. France is the same island as Greece going by that logic.

My point was you casted aspersions at City and Chelsea when the same applies to Liverpool. And no other club has fans as scummy as Liverpool.

Liverpool BOUGHT the scots in the same way club these days buy French and Italian players, it's no different. This was at a time when local players meant something and they have done it all,through their existence, it's no more of a prejudice than your comment. Using Pools money (gambling money) to do so.

Fair enough points, i'm not educated enough to rebutt.

Can't view any current big club as pure in that case - all of their success was all built off foreign players. United had them in the 90s in the beginning of their dominance of the modern era, Chelsea and City too in recent times. Arsenal perhaps? Lot of their success in the 90s and early 00s could be credited to the French though, I don't have a deep enough understanding of their older successes.
