Just wanted to add that private venues cancelling an act due to public pressure is not suppression of free speech. Also I think you know that, and are being disingenuous again.

Them cancelling is them using their right to free speech. The women is a nut job...but she's allowed her say, if she doesn't get her say she becomes more dangerous as conspiracy theories abound. Let her speak, debate and destroy her argument.

Comparable to the big bash in terms of team make up. Absolutely nothing to connect to, unless you enjoy flares, fights and supporting franchises ala AFC and Strikers.

Adelaide City are alive and well in their own right, as are West Adelaide. I'm not sure if they receive any dividends or royalties from Hindmarsh a la the SANFL clubs, but City in particular were shafted by the blanket de-ethnicisation of the national comp.

Adelaide United started promisingly until they were taken over by that doucheplatoon who lists taking out the Supreme Court injunction to prevent us from entering the AFL as one of his crowning achievements.

FFS. Not the Autism link again. Our youngest is ASD and neither my wife or I are stupid enough to think it has anything to do with vaccines. That whole myth was based off one study, which the author later admitted he fabricated that result.

She is allowed to speak. Others are allowed to decline to provide her with a forum.

You seemed to be implying that this was an anti-free speech outcome, which it isn't. If you weren't implying that, then I'll assume it was just a non sequitur...

A parent whose kids suffer with a severe form of any ailment will look for reasons, partly in a hope for a cure, partly in the anger they may feel about needing something to blame. Something like autism does not have clear causes, therefore they will latch on to what they can.

Having a child with a terrible disorder gives no one license to make random stupid connections. It's not an innocent belief to hold, it effects everybody else. They don't deserve understanding, they deserve - as has already been suggested here - to be fired into the sun.

You are again stretching what I said, you don't have to agree with someone to understand them. It's your choice if you don't want to understand people feeling such hurt. I choose empathy, you can choose to abuse them.

People have different backgrounds, different challenges in life etc.
To judge them on one facet is ignorant and one of the prime ailments of our society. Opinions and situations don't exist in isolation, people and life are more complex than tabloid headlines.

Unless they support the Crows, Liverpool, Swansea or any England team...those people are all twats.

As an ex soldier, accomplished martial artist, ex pro rugby player. I'd say I'd be OK.
Empathy is not acquiescence, it's about trying to understand the problem before fixing it, not blaming those suffering but getting to the point of the suffering. Everything else is a reactionary band aid...I give you Iraq and Afghanistan as current examples.

I'm not knocking empathy, I'm just saying it's not the only tool you need to interact with the world. At some point you have to call people on their bullshit, particularly when that bullshit is harmful. There's a point at which acting on empathy alone does mutate into acquiescence, this happens when you find yourself making excuses for things that are inexcusable.
