So this yearly property tax Weatherill and Kouts want to bring in to replace stamp duty mean that they'll refund the $50k I paid them in stamp duty 6 years ago?

I paid a fair whack in stamp duty 3 months ago. Will rage big time if there's no major concessions/refunds for recent home buyers.

There is no way this thing will get up. The only people who could conceivably think it's a good idea are those buying their first home.

...triumphal return to myspace
speaking of Myspace

How do they even run that site? I mean literally who uses it? Facebook, Instagram and tumblr are all anyone uses. Weren't they moving to a music based direction? Even then the alternatives like soundcloud and bandcamp with a facebook page are the standard for musicians?

Outside of people looking back at their old profiles, cringing, and scrambling to remember their passwords in a vain attempt to remove the profile, what traffic is there?

Pretty much. It was all downhill after ol' mate Tom sold it

Every Australia Day long weekend for the last 15 years, four schoolyard mates go fishing and camping at the same spot on the Murray. But this year, Paul had to tell his mates that he couldn't come. "The wife tells me that she has plans for the weekend" he tells the others. So imagine their surprise when they arrive at their secret spot to find Paul sitting by a campfire with his lines in the water already. "What happened?" they ask. "You told us you weren't coming..."

"Well.." says Paul "Last week Julie read 50 Shades of Grey. So last night when I got home, she came out of the bedroom wearing a see-through negligee and led me wordlessly into the boudoir. The bed was covered with rose petals. She handed me and blindfold, and asked me to tie it tightly around her eyes. Then she gave me four sets of handcuffs, and instructed me to secure her hands and feet to the bedposts. "What do I do now? I asked. "Anything you want..."she moaned breathlessly."

"So here I am. Anyone want a beer?"

Yeah, Justin Timberlake and some media group jointly bought it a few years back.
They claimed it was going to focus more on music, saying some along the lines of "new MySpace" or some bullshit.
I think they started deleting all the old myspace profiles too, so those people don't need to worry.
It'll dead again soon enough, I'd say.

Last I heard Timberlake bought it? Not unlike Netscape or Theglobe.com the whole lot of them should've parachuted out from on top, I mean it was hardly Google.

Perhaps he was trying to immerse himself in the role for The Social Network

Seems those golf states were right - Australia is clearly part of Europe, not Asia...

BLOODY ASIANS! Taking all the crap jobs!

Imagine a place where 60% of the worlds population are from, having a significant population in a nearby country with huge trade ties! When will it ever end!
