*Apologies.
Everyone everywhere loves the music they listened to as teenagers.
In 50 years some old fella somewhere will be driving his grandkids to a fishing trip and they'll be listening to Thrift Shop and Kings of Leon on his mix tape.
You're forgetting that they've been broken up for a decade bar a few years of reunion stuff.
They'd sell 10,000 tickets in Adelaide without too much trouble. They aren't the Foo Fighters in terms of popularity but they are a pretty massive band.

Agree. The Big Day Out that RATM were at 6-7 years ago sold out in record time.
Again, I like RATM, I just don't think they have the body of work that puts them up in the super group/sell out a stadium type stratosphere. Bands that I would have way higher than them (and this does not reflect my own preferences) which have a similar body of work are The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Nirvana and even Oasis. I just don't think RATM is at that level of a) popularity and b) pop culture consciousness.
Wow.
Zakk, I understand you have a major hard on for RATM, and that is cool, but that love isn't as widespread as you may believe.
My Business partner thinks Toto are are the greatest band of all time, and Steve Lukather is the greatest guitarist of all time, is he right? Of course he isn't, but he genuinely believes it.

I've never understood the status Nirvana has enjoyed. Picking Cobain at no.12 is stunning in it's lack of understanding

Nirvana deserve every bit of praise they get, teen spirit is arguably THE song of the past 25 years.
Coming off a decade of hair metal and competing with the likes of MC Hammer, Vanilla Ice and New Kids On The Block?
Can't imagine why.

That list is an absolute farce.
