Is netflix worth bothering with?
Elaborate, I cant even find a current content list on their websiteYes.
Probably because they want you to sign up for the free trial. Which will actually lead to you forgetting to unsubscribe after the month and you'll get charged $9.Elaborate, I cant even find a current content list on their website

Yeah, they don't do that, they've always been annoyingly cagey about their catalogue.
I've been using it for a couple of years with the help of unblock-us.com - the Australian catalogue may be limited at the moment but you can pay an extra US$5 a month to access every country.
Anyway, Netflix have a one month free trial. iiNet and its subsidiaries are doing it unmetered and Telstra is doubling its broadband data allowances in response. Good times. Give it a go.
Far out I hadn't even noticed my bigpond plan had doubled, just logged in it's gone from 500GB to 1000GB thanks for the heads up lol, jeez I doubt I'll need all that.Yeah, they don't do that, they've always been annoyingly cagey about their catalogue.

This better pressure Foxtel into finally making its prices more competitive.
It already did.
Just not impressively.
I'm betting these startups like Presto and Stan and... whatever those other ones are called... are shitting themselves over how low Netflix has priced itself, largely ignoring the usual "Australia tax". I doubt any will last the next 12 months.
I'm streaming a Jim Jeffries comedy special in HD, legally, on my plasma, without having to pull the laptop out and then get the spare HD cable out and then keep an eye on my quota blah blah blah for $11/month.
I mean bugger me.
So apparently there is a cricket match on today. cant wait to not watch it since the world cup has dragged on longer than the extended version of lord of the rings.
Here's the catalog for the Australian Netflix, you can unlock the US content using the same account with a VPN.Elaborate, I cant even find a current content list on their website
Have you updated the system software or searched for the app? The app was there automatically on my Samsung smart TV.So I joined netflix & the bloody sony smart (lol) tv has every friggin' app except netflix, anyway it's ok i have it on the wdtv player... but why the **** don't sony have the netflix app?
Yea I've updated the system nadda, TV is only a year or so old i've never tried an app search I've hardly ever bothered with apps on it till now.Have you updated the system software or searched for the app? The app was there automatically on my Samsung smart TV.
Thanks mate i just did a refresh internet content in the sony settings and it's there now lolAnother option is looking at one of those chromecast dongles, I picked one up for $30 with that Stan free trial offer & it works pretty well with Stan & a tablet.

The layout looks better on the tv app than the wdtv appHow well does the official app work? Not sure if it was just the TV they used but i've heard a few people say the PS4/XB1 app works/looks better, one of the reasons I decided on picking up a chromecast.
And therein lies the bones of capitalism laid bare
