House around the corner just went at auction for Glenelg FC's annual operating budget. Half our street were there, gathered voyeuristically to watch the hopefuls. Not sure if looking at us affected the price. I was conscious of the fact we could afford our house (obviously) when we began paying it off, but I can't imagine that if we were starting off today we'd commit to what it would cost now.

Adelaide real estate market is pretty hot at the moment, when you have 4 bedroom joints in places like Everard Park and Nailsworth selling for over a million bucks, you know it's starting to get overheated.

Keep telling me how's the like, the best fighter ever and him vs Diaz is such a fair fight for the UFC to give him.

LOL when did I say that? All I've said is I'm looking forward to it, mostly for the spectacle. You do realise that he's only fighting Diaz because Diaz was the only one fit and willing, right?

IMO the dominance of jujitsu gave birth to the modern style of MMA and discouraged fighters from becoming disciplined in other styles. There's been a few great exceptions to this (Mirko ftw) but mostly modern MMA is just jujitsu on the ground and bastardised kickboxing standing up, hence all the fighters seeming the same.

I think being a competent wrestler is the biggest part of it. You can survive with little to no JJ as long as you have a solid ground defence, and it's very possible to avoid striking altogether.

You don't disagree that his 5 second fight with Aldo raises more questions then it answers? I'm just not sold on the guy as champion yet, befitting of his cult of personality, and this fight doesn't help.

He brings a great spectacle and I can't argue with that.

I thought he played the lead up to the fight perfectly, got Aldo mad and threw him off his game. Aldo came out swinging and McGregor capitalised on the opening and caught him perfectly on the chin. Whether that was a fluke or not is subjective. As far as him being a champion, only time and his on going record can answer that.

I love him because I find him highly entertaining. I'm not interested in declaring his worth in the overall fight game. I'm just another punter with a worthless opinion so it doesn't really matter ;)

The Aldo fight has many questions, alot of them on Aldo as much as Conor. According to Joe Rogan, Aldo was trying to get the UFC drug testers kicked out of Brazil while he was in camp for the McGregor fight, then he tripped and spilled a cup of his piss he was meant to give the testers. Whether or not any of that is true or how true it is who knows, plus Aldo's camp is what 1-7, 0-8 since the drug testing changed in the UFC one of the losses being the Aldo KO.

Doesn't diminish Aldo's achievements but I have doubts about the legitimacy of him and a few other fighters from Brazil.

Personally I'd like to see a rematch between the 2 but I see it going the same way as the 1st fight with McGregor KOing Aldo again.

Brazil is a big joke in the UFC, its like Victoria to the AFL. Amateur hour down there on the way it's camps and fighters are regulated. Another reason I love Sonnen, for getting them all riled up. A shame the Sonnen - W. Silva fight never happened.

My god, UFC talk is less exciting to me than ac/dc talk. Pretty amazing feat, that.

No problem with you guys chatting about it, but it certainly helped me realise that!

Greasing, knees to the face of a downed opponent, attempted cage grabbing, yep, keep pretending it never happened.

Aldo did walk in to Connors fist. I haven't seen a defence that full of holes since anytime Chaplin takes the field. Connor was good enough to take advantage of it. Keep telling me how's the like, the best fighter ever and him vs Diaz is such a fair fight for the UFC to give him.
And ufc fan boys always talked of the pride miss matches.

Some of the lighter weights are a tad thin at the moment.

Robbie Lawler being champion proves that.

You should post another pic of your 4WD, that'll fix it ;)

I even like the UFC, but still can't stand UFC talk.
