My wall calendar shows numerous Australian and international holidays, religious festivals, this and that Day, daylight saving start and finish dates, etc, etc, but no mention of Adelaide Cup Day today. Perhaps when the print run was done SA Great was still umming and ahhing about which month the race would be held.

Our government here... Couldn't arrange a root in a brothel.... let alone to shag one...

Why don't they incorporate Adelaide Cup with the Oakbank.....? And use that day Adelaide Cup day for "HOME RENO's" day.... or better still give that day back to the employers of the state.

I've had fiddy each way on Tunes based on giddyup saying it was the best roughie.

I don't know, the race has a big standing. It was running 60 seconds late and the TAB cut to a split screen of the cup and the Mildura trots.

The Mildura trots are kind of a big deal.

Never bet in Adelaide.

You forgot to pay taxes.... then you can die, and then pay tax again for dying to help pay for the 100 million per day the incur everyday in this state...which we and the future generation will pay for many years to come.... but i digress, i think....

I wouldn't give a public holiday for a sporting event until that debt is paid off..... all i can say is that your lucky that ain't the Premier this pissant state...

Did you go to the race or did you enjoy your public holiday...?

I don't want to work like you, but to have a public holiday for an event that gathered 15K of people is bloody ludicrous, just think of the wages that was paid today for no productivity..... I just cant get my head around it.

Why would any ordinary joe object to a public holiday for reasons other than ethical ones? Debt isn't the fault of some people not working an additional 8 hours a year. That's absurd reasoning.

I've lived in Adelaide my whole life and never been to the Adelaide cup.
As far as my experience is concerned it's a holiday based around a fictional event.
Kind of like Christmas
