To me, it is a bit of a nowhere transitional album that wouldn't have made half the waves it did at the time without that one song. It is neither here nor there musically compared to the albums either side of it.

Its a well put together metal album. Impeccable production. It's totally self assured about what it wants to be, despite nestling somewhere between hard rock and metal - not that it's much of a gap.

Every song is extremely well written, catchy and technically proficient without being wanky, it's extremely well produced and the gateway album into all things heavy for many, many people including just about everyone I know.

Absolutely this is metal.

Maybe its just a glass half full compared to half empty. He's not the cultural rapist and the ridiculous hyperbole used to describe the prequels simply isn't funny anymore. It's not 2008, bashing them around just looks lame as does using Lucas as the punchline to jokes.

I think my comment about him eating lunch in Adelaide and how social media responded was the best way I've articulated how I feel about the whole shebang.
