Most turn into pussies when they enter politics anyway the high ideals etc. are snuffed out pretty quick by pulling party lines & not doing anything seen as too radical
Oh, I would be quite satisfied with a Trump win (moreso than a narrow Clinton victory).

He would give the alt right their man. H will be a disaster and we can then swing back left/centre.

If Trump narrowly loses, the next alt right candidate will be far more dangerous.

US election betting pool!

Winner gets... one match of your choice worth of drinks on me at AO next year (I am a generous drink buyer, but keep it within reason...), or equivalent something or other if you're interstate. The winner is the one who gets closest to the popular vote % margin and the electoral college margin.

My picks:

Clinton to win popular vote by 4.2%
Clinton to win electoral college by 307 to 231

Use the map at http://edition.cnn.com/election/interactive-electoral-college-map if you want to do some sums.
Was I the only one who predicted the trump win for this?

His relationship with his own party isn't strong. I wouldn't expect them to tow Trumps line.
They will destroy him, though that is the worry as it will validate the reasons people have voted for him.

If the Denocrats had given the people who they wanted (Sanders) over who the party wanted (Clinton) it wouldn't even be close.

This is the US telling the elites to **** off.
Sort of. I reckon if the Republicans had put up Rubio they would have gotten much better numbers amongst Hispanic's, yet still would have been able to pitch to appeal to most of the dissatisfied rump Trump is pulling in. Either party put up almost anyone else and they'd have won. It certainly is the case of 'give us your worst' there.

Well, change could also mean by pulling the trigger on the nukes and that would be a drastic change there. Right now given the current global political climate, steady is probably better than change.

Bill Clinton was a good president. GWB has a lot more to be held accountable for the mess the US is in now not Bill Clinton and definitely not Hillary.
I can't agree, a nuke ? Carn

Now here's a guy who knows how to look on the bright side!

Sanders is just an ancient commie. He seemingly had no dirt and he also isn't establishment. What ammo would Trump have, other than that he is a commie?

In the US, that's all he would need.

Waiting for sanity to prevail once results start coming in from the west coast it will swing back.

West coast can be taken for granted. This is all about the Great Lakes states now.

No way. Rubio was a cancer - he couldn't even win his home state of Florida.

It was important to put up Trump because he is rightly or wrongly seen as a disruptor. Sanders was the answer to Trump but the Denocrats thought that they could control the narrative through the media.

Of course, I believe the whole thing has been a massive set up from the beginning because there are certain bits of key legislation that need to pass that would be considered ideologically opposed to a Democratic candidate.

For example, a tax on religious organisations (which would effectively kill organised religion in the US since most of them are in it for the money) would never pass with Clinton.

With Trump, however...he's just crazy enough to do that sort of thing.

And Lol to DC, Clinton 93%, Trump 4%. Lots of public servants and those on the gravy train there worried. :D

Lots of big Democrat states to come. Too much premature panic right now. Just has come in from 80% likely Clinton win to 60% IMO.
No it isn't dude. It is now 90% chance Trump, 10 % Hilary.

Sportsbet has Trump in at $1.22 now.

Betting markets react to where the money is laid, above all.

If I had to bet my life on it right now I'd say Trump will win, but it's no $1.22 proposition.

Now here's a guy who knows how to look on the bright side!

I've said that and that he is simply trying to set up a family dynasty from the very beginning.

Ideally Clinton would have trounced him and we wont have to go through the pain, this hasn't happened though.

I used an extreme example that change isn't always good.

Also reports that Hillary would be waging wars if President isn't accurate either. Since the Democrats re-election into power in 2008, they have tried to get the US out of the mess its Republican predecessors have gotten it into.

It's not exactly the 50s
Correct, I doubt it is still illegal to be a communist in the USA but I'm sure Trump would know what buttons to press to get his supporters fired up. Most rednecks still have attitudes that were fashionable in 1950's America.

ABC is even predicting the win for Trump, which is a first time for them.
