It was important to put up Trump because he is rightly or wrongly seen as a disruptor. Sanders was the answer to Trump but the Denocrats thought that they could control the narrative through the media.

Of course, I believe the whole thing has been a massive set up from the beginning because there are certain bits of key legislation that need to pass that would be considered ideologically opposed to a Democratic candidate.

For example, a tax on religious organisations (which would effectively kill organised religion in the US since most of them are in it for the money) would never pass with Clinton.

With Trump, however...he's just crazy enough to do that sort of thing.

I agree with much of this, however there is not a snowballs hope in hell that Republicans would pass a tax on religious organisations (Christian ones at least).

I don't really get this line of thinking. Trump may be a lot of things but a militarist isn't really one of them. If anything he's been making noises about winding back NATO and it's push further east towards Russia and building ties with Russia, which is the complete opposite to Clinton.

But you can't hold them in isolation. Its exactly the opposite of that. They're running against each other in an election.

Either you legitimately don't care which one wins or you pick the lesser of 2 evils (as almost every election has been since the dawn of time)

The political process of establishing each of the candidates is a major issue, it shouldn't result in the 'lesser of two evils' on election day.

The Democratic party did this to themselves by not listening to the people who voted more in favour for Sanders, they were concerned with keeping all their wealth/ jobs for mates when they selected Clinton.
