hop hog's aren't bad, but they also do one called war hog which is brilliant. then again i love hoppy, bitter beers. pirate life iipa is grouse.

a while back the highway at marion had a ton of evil twin beers, which is a fantastic brewery from NY. they had a bonkers imperial IPA called molotov cocktail that was 13% but tasted great too. or for the weak of liver you could opt for the molotov lite which was 9% in a pint can.

I went to a pub in England years ago and fancied a Guinness after a long country walk. They didn't have it on tap, so the bartender took a bottle from the shelf behind the bar and opened it. That was a culture shock to a young Aussie lad, but it was still drinkable in that climate :D

They generally keep their bottles of mixers on the shelf (tonic water, ginger ale, coke) and leave it to the ice to cool the drink. Freaks!

The one on the far left just screams 1970s dad

When I was a young fella I always took a slab of Southwark Bitter to parties. Guaranteed to not get stolen by cheap campaigners who turned up with a six pack and helped themselves to everyone else's beer
I think I may have been at some of those parties Noddy, but I wouldn't have been one of those campaigners! Or would I?

Belgium knocks out some very very good beers. In Amsterdam had a Heineken and said to the waiter got anything
with taste and a bit of kick. Served me these Belgium beers iirc about 7/8% full bodied brews that were bloody good.
Can't remember the names of the 2 types he brought me. I was in a confused but happy state at the time.
Felt like I had conquered gravity if ya know what I mean.
I fell in love with Chimay in Belgium (around 7% alcohol for the red, I think 9% for the blue). Jupiler is actually not bad for a more popular kind of taste. Both very expensive in Australia but you can find them. I also loved a local lager in Montreal called La Paienne. Couldn't find it here (or anywhere else). I think it's a microbrewery.
I absolutely fell in love with Cooppers Pale when I first came to Australia. I don't think I drank anything else for a few years. Eventually got sick of it but I still think it's a great beer.

When the Sail and Anchor was still brewing on site one of their beers was the Dogbolter. The stuff in bottles these days is a very 'responsible' 5.2%, but back in the day it was in the 8-9 range and the last one you would sample as you worked your way down the blackboard :drunk:

Was in Scotland 2014 at a place called Sterling. One night popped around the corner to an off licence and lo n behold
stubbies of Coopers Sparkling are on the shelf. Wow :) I say to the guy "made in the state I come from".
He says "aye canna git ee nuf o that wee drrop"
Let me guess m8 5.8% alcohol
"aye an it taastes goot too"
Don't s'pose Coopers need more sales but seriously they could ship tankers of the stuff to Scotland.

Few years back I was in Chinese/Portuguese owned Macau and I found myself in an American owned Italian themed casino, in that casino was an Irish bar that sold stubbies of Coopers Pale and Sparkling.

Was amazed.

I'm on a gin kick at the moment. I should have given it more credit years ago.

Went thru' the same with sparkling. On the spirits side of booze our older daughter comes back from teaching in Japan.
"here Dad this is for you, picked it up duty free at Narita" A bottle of Japanese whisky.
Japanese whisky! wot! Little did I know. Hibiki mmmm nice.

I found both Pale and Sparkling Ale in the same bar in Santorini a few years ago. Plenty of aussie yobs around in peak season though so maybe not all that surprising.

I remember when I did work experience at my local sports shop and the owner told me in his finest wisdom voice "son, opinions are like arseholes, everyone's got one" and I nodded and raised an eyebrow.

Now that's what I call muticulturalism. Is your DNA just as exotic?
