Don't all 13 make it through to the draft, and it's there the recruiters make their decision on who wins?
No. Pretty sure it's an elimination format. Down to the final 3 where the winner will be crowned. Only the winner will be offered an AFL contract which will then apparently have some kind of special draft. All the losers will likely go play whatever highest level of football is available to them and try to make one of the normal drafts.

That volleyball guy looks like a great prospect! Jackals height is an issue and waylen is only 20 and if given the right support networks and training there is no reason why he couldn't be a star. If a NT team was formed then players like Manson would be lighting up our screens. So much talent up North is lost to us unfortunately.

The same reasons these players don't make it in the current AFL are the same reasons they won't make it in an Norther Territory team, it's still away from their community, it still requires a work ethic that some do not enjoy
Homesickness isn't the only reason why Waylen isn't playing right now, the guys as lazy of a footballer you'll meet, he basically has no endurance whatsoever and could he be more mentally soft?

Waylen hope he lasts,hes bit of a charater.But gez hes fitness/strength is poor.
He clearly just plays for fun and a good muck around, you can tell, he isn't prepared to take it serious, just wants to do what he wants, take screamers and kick goals and let the woman drool over it. He'll never make it but has so much talent.

Watched the encore presentation of the show last night. I don't think I will be watching any more of it.
Sure there are plenty of you that are fans of the show but i'm not one.
Am going to be a bit negative about it so bear with me.
Why have a reality tv show to do with AFL? There's already enough of that rubbish on free to air tv. We don't need to be watching crap shows on tv. To me it's a bit like a crap version of the Hanger or the Club that's on each week.
Things on the show that I saw last night were highly inappropriate. We don't need to know all the minor details of why one of the footballers wears nail polish and we don't need to know if he's gay or straight. Those sorts of things need to be kept private. I can imagine on the footy field he cops it enough just because people are immature and think that somebody's sexual preference means that they have to stay away from them.
Oh and mike91 how do you know that? Do you play in the same team as him or do you coach him? No need to use that laziness as an excuse he might think that you are a racist bugger. Hopefully you aren't.
He could be used as a small forward because he doesn't do much but contributes to the team by kicking some exciting goals.

Waylan was a gimmick pick, there is no way in the world he deserves to be there nor should he be given the chance to be there. The guys attitude is rubbish, he is lazy, unfit and has a selfish me me me mindset. If the show wanted to be taken seriously they should have eliminated him from the outset.
Who is the guy who is 26 and in under on baller, thick set, not Jackal, the other guy? I love his attitude, he has the will and determination that only very few guys have. Jackal will go well, and the kid Wagner? The guy that kicked 4 or so in the praccy match! He looks the best overall type imo. Not a bad show but hard to take seriously when they piggy back a guy through like they did Waylen. Pathetic.

He wears nail polish. Think about that. He's choosing to wear something obvious to the world that guys don't usually wear. It's fair enough that he can then talk about it. And they didn't ask him anything about sexual preference they just let him explain part of his story. Ok they've put a strange guy on to boost ratings but it's his decision.
And suggesting an Indigenous guy can get away with being unfit and sit in the forward pocket kicking goals is possibly more racist than a suggestion that Waylen is lazy which quite possibly has more to do with him finishing last in the running and his attitude than his race. Every position on the ground these days requires top level fitness regardless of skill.

In one of the player interviews, one of them said he kicked eight. The cynics would suggest that they didn't make a big deal of it because they'd rather we didn't know that Wagner is head and shoulders above the rest (I've got no idea if he is or not, incidentally).
Would be nice to know if he can actually play. I don't remember his credentials, or his actual performance in the competition so far, being mentioned at all.

Not a huge fan of Goss just from the first episode but Semmel ( who is one of the least credentialed), Wagner and Jackel are the ones I would like to see go furthest in the competition. Sometimes you can over analyse things with footballers and in a show like this where they are clearly targeting someone developed who can step in and get a kick then those 3 are probably most well equipped.

I love his type, guys that work their arses off but don't have the natural speed or x-factor to get through to AFL clubs. I remember playing with Ryan Pagan and he was exactly the same, got every ounce out of himself as a footballer.

I reckon the show will follow the same path as Australian Idol. There will be one winner, but clubs will be keeping and eye on all 13 players and it would not surprise me if thte guy who gets the guaranteed contract is delisted after two years and someone else ends up being drafted and becoming a success.
I also reckon the AFL clubs will be more interested in how the athletes go adapting to footy than how the guys who are stars in the lower grades and have come through the footy system with obvious deficiencies.
