Edna Krabappel. Seems like one of the only Simpsons characters outside the family that you could meet in real life. She works around people all day but is desperately lonely. Her, Skinner and Selma are such fantastic caricatures of people that we all likely work with and see every day. The one-note satire and joke machines like Hutz and Troy McLure are great, but they don't compare to the reality and heart Edna or Skinner and Selma add to the show.
