Talking this over with mates the other day - Homer Badman has to stand as the most quotable episode of all time IMO.

"Your tears say more than real evidence ever will."

Kent: This is hour 57 of our live, round-the-clock coverage outside the Simpson estate. Remember, by the way, to tune in at 8:00 for highlights of today's vigil, including when the garbage man came and when Marge Simpson put the cat out...possibly because it was harassed, we don't know.
Of course, there's no way to see into the Simpson home without some kind of infrared heat-sensitive camera ... so, let's turn it on!
'Your tears say more than real evidence ever will' is quoted almost daily in our household.

Instead of two or three good jokes a lot of those earlier episodes had dozens that were worth a laugh and a quote

Lisa: Sorry, Dad, we do believe in you, we really do.

Bart: It's just hard not to listen to TV: it's spent so much more time raising us than you have.

Homer: Oh, maybe TV is right. TV's always right!

"Mr Simpson no....don't take your anger out on me....Mr Simpson NOOOOOO!!!"

"Dramatization! May not have happened!"

Now, here are some results from our phone in poll. Ninety five percent of the people believe Homer Simpson is guilty. Now, of course, this is just a television poll, which is not legally binding, unless Proposition 304 passes, and we all pray it will.

As bad as the "jokes" and terrible guest celebrities the show features these days the worst thing for me is that they lost their heart. The Simpsons wasn't always just about the funny but could actually create feels :(

Re-watched "Mother Simpson" again today and the ending is really sad yet poignant.

That moved me to Feeladelphia and changed my name to Feelip.

honestly think that is one of the best (and most simple) scenes in tv history. there's not a human on the planet who can't relate to it.

Lisa: I'll stop buying Malibu Stacy clothing.
Bart: And I'll take up smoking, and give that up.
Homer: Good for you, son. Giving up smoking is one of the hardest things you'll ever have to do. Have a dollar.
Lisa: But he didn't do anything!
Homer: Didn't he, Lisa? Didn't he? ...Hey, wait a minute. HE DIDN'T!

"Do It For Her" is a fantastic fantastic scene too.

Two good choices. I'll throw in a 3rd, the finish to Lisa's first word

Homer: "The sooner they talk, the sooner they talk back. I hope you never say a word."
*Closes door*
Maggie: "Daddy"

Homer: Now, Miss Bobbins, if you want this job you're going to have to answer a few questions. First, do you have any bad habits?
Shary Bobbins: No, I'm practically perfect in every way.
Homer: Well, so am I.
[drinks milk from carton and scratches butt]

Homer: Question two. Who was your last employer?
Shary Bobbins: Lord and Lady Huffington of Sussex.
Homer: (whispering) Marge, do we know them?
Marge: No.
Homer: Come on! Isn't he the guy I bowl with? The black guy!
Marge: That's Carl.
Homer: Oh yeah! (aloud) So, you worked for Carl, ey?

Marge: I knew you had your hands full with the babies, so I baked you some banana bread.

Apu:
:Oh hallelujah, our problems are solved. We have banana bread.

Marge:
Well, you don't have to be sarcastic.

Manjula: Oh, look who's here. The family with one baby. How
do you manage?

........

Marge: Maybe you two should get a nanny.

Apu:
Yes, and what would I pay her with? Banana bread? Sorry, sorry, it's just that we haven't slept in days, and we're running out of money and ... banana bread? What the hell were you thinking? Banana bread. Apologize, apologize again. As a token of forgiveness, please take this baby.
