I watched Peter Jackson (Melbourne Interim CEO) on On the Couch and it got me thinking about the change of administration for Freo.

Jackson said that when he walked into Melbourne, they operated like a football club, not a professional sporting organisation.

Freo lost/ditched Schwab and Rick Hart (no offense to Hart, who was a faithful President) and brought in Harris and Rosich who have basically transformed our club. Brought in Lyon, hired Leading Teams, changed the guernsey, went and got Kirke and Sumich, negotiated new training facilities to built, mostly, with state and federal government money.

Now you might not agree with all those changes but you can't ignore that they appear to be turning our football club into a professional sporting organisation.:thumbsu:

No argument about our transformation on and off the field, but, I wonder how far Jackson would go and last if he tried to re-brand Melbourne to the extent of change that we have under gone. I could not see Melbourne dropping the "Dee's", "Demons", "Change the Song", "Change the Colors", but it is possibly what they need..

Highly unlikely. Plus, as soon as they begin to harvest the fruits of their tanking allllll will be forgotten/forgiven.

For all those who are members, the club has sent out emails for their annual survey. If enough people voice their opinion about keeping the club in Freo, the Steve's might have to listen. (Hopefully)

So you are a dockerland poster  who had come on here to spread his agenda.

You could have waited a few weeks and quoted that post on its anniversary.

Nothing wrong with posting on Dockerland. There are quite a few on here who have done.

It's a free world people can do as they please. I only noticed the post as this thread was just bumped. I just thought it was funny that a person would come on here for just one post to spread a political point then leave.

By the way there is one thing wrong with posting on Dockerland. If you post something even slightly away from the beliefs of the host you get your message removed almost immediately. No such thing as freedom of speech. The mods on here are far more liberal.

They have been around for 114 years, so I suppose it goes without saying that they have had jumper changes and nickname changes. They were known as the Redlegs and the Fuschias. And their colours were red and green at one stage.

Doubt you would get it changed now, but I actually think this is something they should hold onto. I am sorry but our colours were atrocious (I know this will cause a few to get all pissy! :D ) .

But my bump was more about the insight of a respected football administrator. And about how Harris and Rosich are transporting us from just an average team to a team that is delivering great footy and are hopefully setting us on a path to some sort of glory. I just hope once Lyon, Rosich and Harris go, we retain a bit of this ruthlessness and don't go back to our old ways.

Are you for real? Are you usurping my right to hold an opinion without fear or favour? Team Captain! Huh, of what?

Quite the opposite actually. Wouldn't I be acknowledging it by going out of my way to tag you?

That's no way to talk to your Team Captain, rookie ;)

You mean the Melbourne Football Club formerly known as The Redlegs and also known as The Fuchias? The club who changed their original song in 1912 to their current one? The club who used to have red and green colours?

(just noticed Leelo making the same point. We are a young club. Nothing wrong with making changes in the interest of making us a better club)

Before it evolved into Whingerland.

The silly (I mean silly) aspect is that by moderating as they do its turned a really clever business first move model into a inefficent site. It could have massive traffic and been a valuable Freo portal. Have sponsorship\advertising driving a decent $$.

Would be against any number of local laws if you wanted to do something about it.
i was thinking of leaving a stern note suggesting that he park it out the front of his own freakin' house. they can be quite effective, stern notes.

I'd check out size/weight of said Truck Driver before going all Shakespeare on his arse.
