Amazing how the fire spared the house in the background.

I think it was contained enough by maybe a dozen fireys to prevent further spread.

It’s amazing how well people can mask stuff that is going on in their life. A workmate and friend of mine took his life the other week. He had chronic fatigue syndrome but never let on how much it was affecting him. I made contact with his closest friend so I could help heal and grieve and even she didn’t know how bad things were. She saw him the day before he passed and had no idea. We could have helped I’m sure we could have. The what ifs are going to be hard to deal with 😢

I normally have post holiday/back to reality blues days after a holiday finishes. I'm approaching the 6th day of the holiday tomorrow, I've already crammed in a lot of solo adventure activities, I've met old Victorian friends for lunch/dinner catch ups.

I'm sitting in my new accommodation destination and as much "fun" as I've had thus far..... I still feel empty, like I haven't accomplished anything. I don't know what the solution is ? Do I holiday with others (friends or family?) in the future ?

The holiday has helped me realise that even with my work situation changing in recent weeks. I can tell what this break is doing for me. The stress levels have dropped and I feel different as a result. This (despite my woe is me sad on holiday dummy spit) is how I should be feeling all of the time. I know the saying stress less you'll live longer.... ITS TRUE.

Maybe it’s a sign that it’s time to step outside your comfort zone and head in a different direction

Life in your 50s is so much fun. Went to the hairdresser today, and found out that I have a visible bald patch on my scalp (well, visible when my hair wasn't brushed over it). I had no idea before that, because my hair sat in such a way that it was undetectable. It must have happened recently, because it wasn't mentioned the last time I went 6 or 7 weeks ago. Being female, it's a bit of a shock to the system. We're not generally hairless. Need to investigate how or if it can be treated. Alternatively I need to start investing in wigs, or preparing for life as a bald old biddy.

Embrace the bald!

Keep an eye on it in case it’s alopecia.

My younger sister has just been dignosed with this and she is not coping at all. Started off as flu like symptoms. :(
I know three women who have it and a couple of men. I believe Peter Dutton has it. A family friend, one of the three women, has some very natural- looking wigs, undetectable really. But I always think they must be hot to wear but she seems used to it.

Starting to think I might have arthritis as well. The last few weeks I've noticed my joints have started randomly hurting - today my hips (although they've improved now I'm not standing), and hands, and especially my left thumb (even though that's a joint I rarely use - that's still the most painful of all). Obviously I need to visit my GP for confirmation, but at this stage, I'm strongly suspecting it. I'm only 51, and it feels like my body's slowly becoming more decrepit. An arthritic Tadpole does not sound pleasant - especially since I didn't even know Tadpoles had bones.

Caltrate Joint Support and Glucosamine might help, but you need to get a blood test and appropriate medication if needed.

She has 1 wig and her hubby said it makes her look younger. Good job Kevin.

She is very sad for the loss of her hair. She has always had long hair.

I didn't realise it can affect fingernails too.

Over 50 is shit. I played netball for 25 years and now have osteo arthritis. I am on waiting list for both knees to be reconstructed.

I can get my due lot of Euflexxa steroid injections because there is no stock in Australia as it is made in Israel. I spend time when not at work with my feet up and looking after my mental health.
Getting older is not for the faint hearted.

I actually just started taking the Caltrate a couple of days ago. Need to look into the Glucosamine though. Will be going to my GP as soon as I can get an appointment.
