When I was in my mid twenties I went out every Thursday/Friday/Saturday night. and usually 2-3 of the rest too. Only stopped when I hit 30 because I was exhausted! Point is this is normal typical behavior for a bloke in his twenties. For a footballer though, now we expect them to not even have a drink in the off season? Let them blow off some steam and have some fun. We wonder why they run to pills and powders when they cannot have a beer anymore.

If you can remember your 20s you need to go back and repeat them...

they do.

This is where alot get it all arse about. You were doing what you were doing but you were not on a payroll that handed you half a mill to do as your job description stated. Normal typical behaviour for a footballer is living in the past dude. Normal typical behaviour for a footballer was once to crack a tinny at the huddle and light up a ciggy. The game has evolved to the point where they have rocket scientists, gps, graphs for everything under the sun, heat chambers, shit chambers you name it they have it. The point is that these "typical" dudes you speak of need to understand that they are professional athletes and professional athletes who want to remain professional athletes follow the mantra set down by their employer. Blowing off some steam is done in the off season, when they are on "holidays".

I'm referring to all the offseason "guess what I saw" reports. Agree in season a different story

Carltank draft thread babbling on about us

"Lol at those Richmond flogs calling Pettard and Lonergan guns".

"Cachia looks like a star".

:D:oops::p

I'm also laughing at people that haven't got their head around free agency yet. Picking up older experienced players only hurts your club if you give up quality for them. If you get them for free there's very little downside (other than taking up one list spot).

It gets better:
Anyone else happy with richmond's off season? Adding three more twos players in Stephenson, ricky petterd and sam lonergan…

Include that with chaplin, knights and aaron Edwards….tigers have effectively cancelled out a chance to add a bit more youth to their promising list all in the hope of finishing 8th. Terrible list management…makes me smile.

Enjoyed looking on their board to read them call petterd and lonergan great players as well.

Let's not post links to other team boards, as funny/wrong/stupid as what they are saying may be, not worth the hassle.

We just posted quotes though

I seriously can't get my head around BF sometimes. On the main board they are discussing if Cotchin is over rated, while at the same time another thread is giving serious credence to the possibility of the Bombers going undefeated next year.

Just. Wow

Check out the dates on the thread about Essendon going undefeated;)

Very old thread...

With their weird recruiting and new best buddies Edwards and Martin does anyone else get the feeling that the wheels are falling off the Richmond bandwagon already. That is assuming someone hadn't already stolen them. Can't we have round 1 next week, off-season is sooo boring

@FOXSportsNews: .@GWS_Giants Midfielder Dom #Tyson will undergo surgery next week after he injured his knee at training this week. FoxFooty

Gone for 5 months. PCL

He will be :D

I bloody well hope we can get that deal done. I'm pretty sceptical though, Caddy never got anywhere near Essendon after the same lead up. **** GWS, I'll bet they get worse than pick 9 for him next year.

Caddy wasn't a mad Bummer fan though ;)

Yeah, hopefully between his desire and whatever we have to offer we can make it happen. Having said that if he is gone for 5 months it can only strengthen our bargaining position.
