brilliant just brilliant. roll on the rest of the season. good times on tyneside!!!!

andy carroll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How great was that, that's the best moment of Newcastle Football I've seen since the Robson years.:D

Just awesome to see Carroll get his hat trick too, we have a new number 9, and he thoroughly deserves to wear it.

I loved the shots of Shearer in his private box too, he had some betting slips on him, he would have won a bundle today.:D:)

Onwards we roll, the fortress that is St James' Park will not only ensure our survival, but we may well shock a few sides too.:)

What a stark contrast from our last game against Villa. wow. I would never have dreamed that we could play that well. And to think, we will hopefully get better with the transfers coming in. hopefully they dont ruin the team spirit.

Carroll has improved a lot in a season.

yeah, cant think of another game where we have won by 6 goals. Done some research, and it showed we had scored a 6-2 win over Everton in 2002.

Hold your horses boys, it's a looooong season and we beat a manageless Villa who half of there first team wanting to jump s**t. Not trying to take away from that performance but we need to pull the reins a little, let's see how we go till
Christmas to have a real idea of were we sit this season.

we're allowed to get excited - but point taken.

as far as i'm concerned the target this year is safety. we've got 3 points, we need another 34 to pretty much seal safety :)

Anyone know much about the ivory coast chap we got?? Creative or a Toure type?

He's not creative - but he's vastly superior to Smith creativity wise (not hard, I know).

He's really energetic and he dominated for Twente last season when they won the title. All of their fans are sad to see him go because he is immense. Basically a crapper (but still good) version of Essien.

Only thing that will let him down will be his discipline. He got 3 red cards last season in the Dutch league.

Anyway, as others have echoed, amazing to get such a great start at home but it's a long season and we won't have the luck that we had against Villa in many other games this season.

Oh, and we had 4 points at the same stage 2 years ago ;)

WTF are you talking about? Chelsea and Man U have a new title contendor on there hands. Carroll and Drogba to fight out golden boot. Europe here we come.

Howay the Lads.

you (new poster) have detailed files on every african footballer.

informative read though.

hope he succeeds.

thought newcastle was brilliant, as said on other thread but bobby morri you can't be serious about routeledge.

he had no impact. he got the ball and ran. but losing the ball and running into players, ignoring players making good runs, into great positions is only restricting the teams potential. he really needs to run and pass, not dribble because he's limited. unfortunately he seems to think he's capable of far more than he actually is.
if he used his pace, and brain in tandem he'd be effective.

His crossing was also terrible.

Often he would get into good crossing positions, only to find his cross blocked by the first man.

He needs to improve if he wants to keep playing for Newcastle at the highest level.

Routledge had a poor game, but first game of the season against Man Utd he was probably our most dangerous player on the counter-attack.

He's got quite obvious talent, but he'll end up just being another SWP.

Thought he was handy and made some good runs, but did turn it over a lot. You'd prefer most wide attacking forays coming via the Enrique/Gutierrez connection on the left.

Playing like we did we could easily score (and concede) 80+ goals for the season!
