How u goin magpie fans. as we all know collingwood hasnt done to well when it comes to draft picks or the trading of players, just want to get your opinion on who collingwood should get rid off or try and go for because i have noticed that when a quality player comes to collingwood they tend to not play as well as they did at the other club.

im not a collingwood supporter but i recon you guys always get the better out of trading with Hawthorn. You got scott crow and shanon gibson and we got that big dud paul sharkey, then we traded a pick and got that big dud Nixon. Please dont trade with us this year.

if we trade to get salopek, whats the point in all that, does it just mean we are going to get a Ryan Lonie or another Blake Caracella. Is this what collingwood needs, can salopek offer us much energy and leg speed in the middle??

Absolutely Salopek can offer us some considerable value. The time is right for the kid to come home. I'd be in raptures if we used Lockyer as a bargaining chip to get the deal done. I have never totally been rapt with Tarks and would love to see the back of him.His efforts this year have been uninspiring to say the least. His effort to me mirrors that of Scotty Camporeale at Calrton..when the team is going well they look like a million bucks but when we come to struggle street Lockyer invariably goes missing. Time to flog Lockyer and set out sights on Salopek or anything else of value.

Salopek has been injury riddled and was a top 10 pick. He is no Lonie/Carracella (although I don't understand why people have bagged him, we got him in the Pre-season draft and contributed a hell of alot, given us the class and smarts we need up forward but had some niggling injury towards the end that restricted him)

i wouldnt want to see tarks traded considering he is a leader down at the club and does try is heart out......... but if it meant we were getting a good deal out of it then i am all for it. As long as it is benefitting us i cant see the problem when we have a fair few players that can fill the role tarks plays.

well in that case i would trade every player on our list if we were going to get better players in return! no doubting that tarks is out of form which means his trade value will be down! he is worth much more than his current form! i dont see why he shouldnt be as good if not better then how he was playing before he snapped his ACL

I can see your point Magpie 42 and the knee reco must have set him back...a long way back if u look at it his form of late. Last year, ie 04 was forgivable cos he came back from the 03 reco half way in the year so u'd think this year he have had an almighty pre season and would have been set.
Given he is a leader he seemed lost for most of the year and his kicking, once a stregth, has been embarrassing bordering on humiliating for the whole season. He is a leader, of sorts, with vice captaincy credentials so we have to ask ourselves should we look at off loading him if some value comes our way??I think if we can send him either to port or Freo we should try and manufacture some kind of trade...

i think the key there is "if value comes our way" like i said i woudl trade jsut about every player on our list if we got better players in return! i just dont think anyone else rates tarks as high as the ppl at collingwood, and it is deserved! Ppl dont forget how to kick, and i am sure hsi kicking will improve tarks is has good character and will bounce back! but yeah like you said if we get something better then we'd be crazy not to take it!

I asked for Salopek last year, hopefully we get him this year. Has the leg speed and great potential.
talking about asking from last year, we were after tenace last year but were not prepared to give up pick 7! i reckon this yr we should be able to pick him up for less, as his stocks have fallen and he seems to be out of favour!

Tenace for pick 7 we would of been robbed. I don't mind Tenace but doesn't warrant a top 10 pick just yet.

As for Lockyer the fact is he is a solid player in a good team. We are not a good team right now and would actually be more value at a better team.
