The value of captain selection...

is best appreciated when reading what happened to me.

My opponent chose Scott West 150 x 2 = 300
I chose Chris Judd 35 x 2 = 70

Final Scores:

Exactly why I believe the captain rule should be eliminated... This game has a degree of skill that is clearly ruined by the luck element... As fun as it can be in going through your options, it is a flaw IMO...

I'd have a much better ranking, my captains average around 85 this year.

I only had one 100+ captain score for the first 15 rounds and was averaging 70s. But since then about 4-5.

I personally love the element of luck in dreamteam, it makes it so much more exciting. It may be depressing when you select a shocker (70 and below) but the feeling of selecting a ripper (130+) is incompareable. I picked up Judd in dreamteam purely to put as my skip every week. i have to pick his 180!

I enjoy picking captains, but I agree it does change the game too much. I would like there to be a better alternative, but I can't really think of one.

I've done ok. Should have gone with Kane Cornes more often. Will probably put that into practice in the last 2 weeks. I've lacked the real big scores. Ive had a couple of 130's but I needed afew of those 100's to turn into 120's.

That 5 week period was one of the main reasons i made a huge rise in the rankings (839th to 216th ). Yet lots of average scores so far, couldve been so much better

This is SC but still the same really.

SC probably plays even more importance on captain choices as you can get some real high scores.

I had Judd for the first 8 weeks or something. He averaged 150. It was the only reason why I was in the top 10. I then made Mitchell or Kornes captain for the remainder averaging 105 probably and I tapered out a little. Top place on the w/e had Judd captain and they all did crap because Judd only got 55. Its huge in SC.
