6. Gameday Village
Another new addition to the game experience for Port Adelaide Supporters is Gameday Village. A completely revamped version of last year’s White Marquee Bar; this year’s bar, is twice the size and will again live on the doorstep of Adelaide Oval - with some exciting new additions.

A relaxed vibe with smooth tunes, $5 beers and food trucks, Gameday Village will be the place to be both pre and post-game.

The club has completely revamped its White Marquee Bar setup from last year to bring you Gameday Village; an outdoor bar experience like no other.

Double in size from last year and with a fresh garden terrace theme, the village brings the bustling nightlife of cosmopolitan Adelaide right to the edge of the football ground. Inside, the generous bar will be stocked with wine, spirits, cocktails and $5 beers* while food trucks (Taco Cat, La Chiva and Four n’Twenty) serve up casual street food.

A live DJ spinning smooth tunes, cheap drinks and a relaxed vibe, Gameday Village is the perfect venue for supporters wanting to kick back before and after the oval lights up. Located on the tennis courts on War Memorial Drive, with access to the area from the Southern Plaza, footy fans can step straight from the game into the village.

Gameday Village opens at 3pm this Saturday and will continue serving throughout and after the game, until late. A hub of activity just steps from the football field, Gameday Village will be the place to be this footy season, continuing to bring the Northern side of the Torrens to life on gameday.

In 1970, they set a limit of one slab per person per day around Oz for either shield or test cricket. Then management got smart and started worrying about stadium yield, around the time World Series Cricket started.

Yep. We did this many times last year.
As soon as the doors open, there are people waiting with pass-outs at the ready. Good idea for those with GA tickets who don't want to miss out.

I have unreserved in the Western Stand. I get there at gates open - put my cushions down and then head straight to White Marquee.

The security guards don't like you saving seats but we make sure all 10 of us are there - we all save our own seat - and then we all walk out together.

Don't agree with that, why cant you get up and grab a feed or a beer? If you're reserving seats for others, then thats not on. Pushing someones cushion or jumper off is the same as pushing someone off the seat.

Get there early, like the person did that put a cushion on.

He/she and his group of ten didn't pay for reserved seats, what gives them the right to reserve ten seats with their cushions?

If the stadium fills up quickly tomorrow night, and this group of 10 selfish people are still down at the White Marquee bar drinking, and me and my group of 6 including two young kids, can't find 6 consecutive seats to accommodate us, why should we not sit in 6 of those 10 seats that nobody is sitting in? Because some selfish arrogant people think they can have reserved seats without paying for reserved seats because they've put their cushion on them?

It isn't about getting up to grab a feed or go to the toilet or grab a drink.

If my group get hungry, we don't all reserve our seats with cushions and rush off to get a feed.
We take it in turns, a few of us go at a time so if anyone comes along and tries to sit in one of our seats we can tell them the seats taken the person has just popped out for a minute. That's a logical way of doing things. Turning up when gates open to reserve your seats before anyone else gets there just so you can go down to a bar and get shit faced isn't logical and importantly isn't fair to other members who have as much right to sit in those ten seats as the selfish people who think they can reserve them with a cushion.

I don't have an issue with it... They've gotten there early enough to do it.

It's just like the SACA with their stickers for Test Matches that "hold" your seat for the first session to allow you to walk around etc.

If it's that much of an issue, get a reserved seat on the other side of the ground like I did and you can roll up right on the first bounce ??

The whole game day experience for port is about building anticipation to the main event - what a great way to do this, build a place where footy fans can go, eat and drink responsibly at a reasonable price and talk ****ing footy!

Bonus is that it is a place where my money spent goes somewhere other than the Sanfl.

The Southern Plaza will be buzzing!

Look out for the new Game Day Village as you come over the bridge and onto the southern plaza. It is 100% Port Adelaide and gives a chance to listen to some music, grab something to eat or drink and catch up with friends before and after the game.

For those who found the White Marquee Bar in the same spot last year - times that by ten!

You’ll find the Game Day Village on the Memorial Drive courts with entry off the Southern Plaza.

What if youre on your own and nobody to hold your seat when you go to the toilet? I get your point but you have no idea how long someone is going to take.
