Part 6 is over there:

My parents let us watch it as it was a "family" show. Looking back on it it was full of innuendos and Laura was actually more of a bitch than Nellie.

And Mary must be the most pitiful character in television history. Went blind, had a miscarriage then lost her baby in a fire.

The original Muppet Show was filled with a lot more hidden sexual innuendos and double entendres that went over my head as a kid (which I think was part of the genius of Jim Henson and his writing and works), there was just enough in it to make the show enjoyable for the parents/adults as well as The Kids.

Had no idea why Gonzo had that flock of admiring Hens though, he was terrible at anything he tried (bless his beak lol)

ahhh
BDO memories...pleasing
Shirley is mesmerising. Saw Garbage in 2005 at Adelaide Festival Theatre and Shirley called Australians sick f*cks because Cherry Lips was so much popular here than anywhere else. Naturally we took it as a compliment.

Were here not long ago Josh called us a bunch of Campaigners... 🤣🤣.

× I think the mosh was getting out of hand.

I've seen what the Americans did to Kath and Kim. Thank god they didn't get their hands on The Castle too.

To be fair to The Yanks, their version of The Office was far superior to the British one

It may have run for more episodes, but does that make it superior?

Most Americans I see commenting on the two versions rate the British one as superior

I will freely admit I have never liked Ricky Gervais and his brand of humour (bit too smug for me)

I am a Steve Carrell fan all the way (Brick Tamland is the GOAT

I don’t think Yanks can do British humour. They can do their own funny stuff, just as we can. But the subtleties in each are not copyable?

In terms of American comedy, I much prefer shows like Parks & Rec, 30 Rock or Community etc, compared with Big Bang, Modern Family or other ones that feel like there rely on canned laughter/sitcom shit

British comedy also seems a bit more rewatachable at times - like there's only 15 episodes of Mr Bean but growing up watching it felt like there was multiple multiple seasons

I loathe Modern Family and TBBT.

American comedy prefer Seinfeld.

PS. Bean the movie is on TV today 👍

Both shows were popular. It comes down to personal taste which one you prefer. I could never get into the US version. I just tried again with 'Best Moments - All Seasons' on Youtube. I only got 6 minutes in before I binned it.

Started snowboarding just over a year ago at the ripe old age of 33 and absolutely loved it. Went over to Japan last year and gave it a go and decided to head back for ever longer this year, so just got back from 11 days on the slopes and was one of the best trips I have ever had. The most pleasing thing was how much I improved.

I avoided the snow for 17 years because I hated it when i went in school, so I just figured I would hate it forever. Have always been a little stubborn like that, but glad I gave it another shot.

Fully disagree but I can't stand Steve Carrell.

It's all good.

You are not wrong, I feel the same about Ricky Gervais, everyone's personal taste is different

On the whole, I generally prefer British sitcoms to The US (although original Frasier is still my all time favourite)

On an Only Fools and Horses re-watch on Btitbox. Amazing stuff

Being the filthy limey I am, I thought the yanks did a great version of The Office.

Pure Brit humour you will never beat Men Behaving Badly......

Only Fools and Horses is better imho
