I'm positively ropeable after a loss.
It's worse if we lose on a Friday night and then I can't enjoy any of the remaining matches.

Better to lose (not that there'e ever a good time) on Sunday twilight. That way build up to next week has started and you generally play again on a Saturday so less lag time on a Friday night.

The Pies winning on a Friday night however is awesome and is pleasing.

Of course grand finals are the worst- such an empty feeling. I reckon the worst part of losing a GF, is that time when you wake up Sunday morning and it all comes flooding back. :(
Even worse is when you have the rest of summer to be constantly reminded of that dreadful day.

I don't get really emotional over footy, but it's a two way street though, while a loss doesn't really faze me, I don't get the real high of a win either. Maybe it's because I've seen my team win 6 (count em, 6) flags in my 34 years as a Hawks fan and I can be a bit blasé about such things.

"Wah, wah, my team made a grand final."

You all make me sick

True. While GF losses sting in the immediate aftermath and a few days after at least you enjoy making it and the experience leading to and throughout September. Shocking feeling to go through a year knowing you're team is s&&^ and there is no end in sight.

Hey the lead up to the 94 and 95 Grand finals were shit. Knew we was gonna get spanked.

(But yeah i understand what you were saying. All the other matches in the 94 finals series, for a Geelong supporter were amazing- two after the final siren wins, just never happens)

:D:D

Hey Igloo, I got just as upset at the 1997 Prelim final as you did- trust me. (Was at the game too) ****ing bullshit.
I was only 6 (I can't believe it was that long ago ) , but can still remember being incredibly pissed, haha. Libba's goal was a goal, damnit.

Lol... I was 17.

Didnt know there was such an age difference.. you must be wise beyond your years Igloo. :p

Since getting back into playing footy in 2010 after a 4 year break whilst overseas and/or being lazy, I've found myself not quite as emotionally attached to the eagles. I still get very into and am gutted after a loss and buzzing a after a big win... But I put my heart a lot more on the line when I get out on the field. Eagles lose, shit, but I'll get on the beers no problems. We lose, If I head out I'll be a right campaigner for a good few hours at least. Very curt with people etc,. When we lose I will generally only go out with the guys from the team cause at least they'll be feeling it a bit and won't think i'm a dickhead for barely talking till midnight.

Nah it went over post.

Chris Grant should have kicked the ball off the ground, made a massive error trying to pick it up.
Lies.

And blame Hudson for that. Didn't give Grant enough space to move.

I am very similar, but I feel that emotional pain when I lose and when the Bombers lose. FML.

My worst nightmare would be a Hawks v Geelong GF, actually.

I am packing up and heading to Norway if that happens. Yeah i figure no one knows AFL in Norway..
I'd hate that (in fairness in the finals I fully jump on the bandwagon and actually watch the games - in the H&A season, I watch a few games, but not many), you'd have us covered.

Oh I am gonna ******* troll so many of you when my team beats yours, this is going to be fun :D
Prepare to become very, very hated.

In those first few hours after a loss I (and I bet most of the others) basically blackout all football related media/the football parts of BF. If I came to GD looking for a bit of a distraction to see a taunt I'd be bloody furious.

You would feel e-pain like you've never felt before

Sorry can't hear you, on top of the ladder :D

What was that about Norway?

I googled it lol

Some Euros actually like our game. I'm sure they're all Hawks supporters too, that bandwagon has always been big enough for everybody :p
