Being one of the last few left at work drinks, so took an unopened bottle of wine + 6 chocolate bars home.

And having AN AWKWARD FLIRTING STORY. From today, and yes another student ffs..

Geelong gives me nightmares after our game now.

Wouldn't know how I'd go getting a ticket, being an AFL member I get into every MCG and Etihad final (including GF) but I doubt Skilled or whatever it's called now.

Kardinia Park. It is still Kardinia Park (the whole area anyway). :thumbsu:

Shit game to watch on tele, great game to play, I love having a hit of tennis. My back hand is no good and I don't even try on my first serve but generally the standard of opposition is no better.

Love watching tennis and playing. And I have a weak as piss backhand, if I cant get to it double handed, there is no point in my hitting the shot, it is that weak.

Going to the football and having to take along sunscreen. And leave the ****ing poncho and umbrella at home.
I went out on the water yesterday with a black fella, as I put on the sunscreen I said to him , I should of learned by now to phuq off back to my own hemisphere. It takes certain brand of SOH to laugh at that...

On topic,

Saw a mangrove tree, very people would of. It was surrounded by new growth, it was decades older than anything around it. It stood out a mile. It was such a size and developed much like a willow tree would, you could live in it. It almost had a spirit to it.There was a couple like it. To get to this place you needed tides and weather to combine and be quite a fit or clever kayaker prepared to get dirty.

It really is a pleasing experience being somewhere very few ever get.

This will be a beauty. If you haven't read Unreliable Memoirs you're unAustralian.

Yeah I'll be watching that for sure, Clive James is a hero of mine.

I've read all of Clive's autobiographies, Unreliable Memoirs, Falling Towards England, May Week is in June, North Face of Soho, some of the the funniest books I've ever read. He described every Australian's childhood, uni, travel to England/Europe experiences, it still applied to me about 40 years later.

His Visions Before Midnight, Crystal Bucket, Glued to the Box books from his tv critic work at the Observer are brilliant too along with Flying Visits when he was a travel writer. My parents had all his books and I devoured all of them.

Likewise, my folks had all of his books. If you like James' humour, these might appeal to you as well.

I've also been cynically buying First Editions and signed James stuff with every intention of cashing on his death.

You might not have to wait too long.

He's not looking too good old Clive, he's shuffling around like an OAP in those promo clips with Kerry O'Brien, apparently he can't fly back to Australia for health reasons. His still got that trademark sharp, dry wit though.

Hey has Cruyff14 been unbanned yet?

I think it's been a week..

And Igloo how do you like the finals coming to Geelong. Has the party started down there yet? :p

No parties yet, but the Addy has started advertising those stupid car flags again. Only $2! :p.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-09-04/malala-opens-europe27s-largest-library/4935238
Just eleven months after she was shot in the head by a Taliban gunman, Pakistan teenager Malala Yousefzai has opened Europe's largest public library saying books are the "weapons to defeat terrorism".
"Pens and books are the weapons that defeat terrorism.
"I truly believe the only way we can create global peace and to our peace and prosperity is only reading, knowledge and education."
I dig this chick.
F*** you fascists.
