Hated the snakes in SA. Brown snakes and red bellied black snakes all over the place and they do not GAF about people. At least tiger snakes here generally steer clear of you.





The red belly black ones are attracted to warm car engines when you park the car and there was a news story just about every other day in Adelaide about them hitching a ride in cars.

Red touches yellow a dead fellow red touches black ok jack.
Something like that.

Tiger snakes in tassie are more darker even black they can be more attacking if they threated.

I did a venomous animals training course. The guy that runs it has the largest collection of venomous snakes in the southern hemisphere. He has a coastal taipan that can leap/strike 5ft.

It was great to see how snakes act under normal conditions and when agitated. For me the tiger snake is the most intimidating, browns and blacks just want to get away from people.

Not sure if he does but there is a dedicated venom business in Australia somewhere as I saw a story on it. He does snake handling courses, people come to him as he is one of only a few that has taipans in captivity so they go to him for training.
