'The X Files'. I had every episode recorded on VHS, until my Dad taped over them.

I Want To Believe.

Recently I had a massive nostalgia binge and DLed the full set- I'm watching through it from start to finish, it's amazing how good it still is, really a revolutionary TV show and the spiritual father of a lot of the quality story arc tv which followed.

Do love all the cutting edge 90s tech and fashion, mulder and scully rock some house brick cellphones and some ugly ugly laptops.

I have a landline only because I needed it for internet. I don't know our number though.

I got a naked DSL connection so I technically use the landline, I just don't have a phone.

iinet: Do you have a landline?
Me: Yes
iinet: Do you have a phone?
Me: No
iinet: What is your number?
Me: How the **** would I know, I don't have a phone!

I'm not surprised Crazy John's and others have disappeared. At my local big shopping centre there used to be phone shops in double figures. When there are only a handful of phone brands and even less phone networks it was never sustainable.

The only reason I have a landline is because my Mrs calls her folks in England. I'd get rid off it tomorrow if I could, I'm sick of idiots ringing me trying to sell stuff.

It's fun baiting Indian telemarketers about Tendulkar.

I showed my kids a picture of a rotary dial telephone... they said... what's that?

Miss the baked potato cart at Princes Park, Sunny Boy/Glug/Razz/Zap original ice blocks (every 10th one had the "get a free one" written on the inside of the wrapper)

The cyprus tree at the north end of Kardinia Park where kids fell out regularly through overcrowding watching the game and breaking their arms

And for those old enough, the Corio Cinemas in Geelong that had feet warmers. The cinema had a boiler in the basement that had hot water pumped through pipes with two rectangular plates in front of every seat where you could take your shoes off and warm your feet. True story

Funny you say that as with mine & your avatars being Breaking Bad related there's a funny phone thing during the series.Often you see them use a phone at a telephone box.Vince Gilligan deliberately did that as he said in a few years people will watch it and ask their parents "What are those ?"
