i'll usually answer my mates. maybe once of 10 i won't.

but i never answer a call that's not in my phonebook. and if they don't leave a voice mail then they won't be getting a call back.

Me too
Usually if I don't know the number it's just some scammer anyway.
On the off chance that it's not, if you don't leave a message and try to get me to call back, the call wasn't worth anwering in the first place.

I didn't see this before. Same goes with me, if it's not in my phonebook or if it's private then it won't be answered.

This is perfectly fine behaviour.

A phone is just a tool of annoyance. As Stephen Fry said, imagine you are doing something and they come up to your desk and they bang the table saying "speak to me now" over and over again until you responded.

I'm probably one of the few people in their early 20s who avoids using their phone as much as possible. I'll often go out without it and a lot of the time it'll sit in my room upstairs on silent and I'll have completely forgotten about it for 8-9 hours. Last night I had six missed calls from my parents worried about me because they hadnt heard from me for about a month. I know it's a pretty dick move by me to not talk to my parents for so long, but I just dont like talking on the phone. I really dislike this idea that you are constantly reachable with a mobile phone. Most people wont even think twice about ringing you after 9.30 whereas when I was a kid it was pretty impolite to ring the home phone after a certain hour.

Also, I removed voicemail so if I get a private or unknown number ringing me it's even harder for me to suss out who it was before I call back. I should probably have kept it but I hate the idea of paying for someone to leave me a message.

I hear ya. Unfortunately my phone rings non stop due to work so it needs to be on me during business hours but I try to leave my phone by itself for a few hours at night (even though I still get work calls) and sometimes when I do, I get calls from friends and usually I get a voicemail along the lines of "pick up your phone!" or "why do you even have a phone if you don't answer it!" It's like .. my phone has been ringing since I woke up, give me a break! Definitely always good to just switch off your phone every now and then :thumbsu:

same here, people often say i should answer them but if its outside buiness hours i figure its not important so i don't answer.

Repeatedly 'miss' calls from friends/acquaintances when i can't be bothered speaking/dealing with them.

That's not being an arseh*le. Everyone has a right not to answer their phone! I answer my phone rarely. I use it more like a walkie talkie for when i am meeting up with people.

Sometimes i can't even be bothered talking to my good friends. Only one person in the world has my home phone number, and he's my neighbour so he knows damn well when i'm home but i have been known to ignore it. He used to have a spare key until one day i ignored him knocking on my door, so he just let himself in :D

A bit too much like kramer!

I like annoying pricks in cars who deliberately antagonise people on bikes. Even to the point where I wait for them to turn sideways into the gutter so I can't go past them at the lights. The same guys almost always go around me when I get past which is very dangerous because they seem to want to get as close as is humanly possible then BRAKE.

I've only had one real incident where I tried something new. I went to go around a guy who parked in the gutter to stop me coming through. When I decided to go down the middle instead he reversed up a bit and turned right to block me in the middle. I couldn’t get through without coming to a complete stop and walking through the small gap.

By this stage he’s already got his window down and is shrieking something that I can’t quite make out. When I got through I turned and back fisted his mirror and the plastic bit at the back came off completely. Hilariously he completely lost his mind and chased me down the road but I was going downhill doing 30kmph so he had no chance. I thank god he didn’t catch me because who knows what I would have done to him. Since then I've tried to not notice rabid motorists so much and look the other way a bit more because when a couple of drivers who were up to no good start making trouble in my neighborhood, I got in one little fight and my mom got scared and said "You're moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air"

the only time i'll answer my phone to unknown numbers if i've been applying for jobs or i have a pretty strong knowledge that i could be getting a phone call for something that i've been trying to sort out... but even then i figure something like that would leave a voice mail...
