Why do people eat McDonalds? Or any other chain fast food, for that matter?

Why do people like pop music?

Why do people watch reality TV?

Why do people go to live in places like Taylors Lakes?

Why do people want the Australian flag to have the Union Jack on it?

Why do people go to Starbucks?

Why do so many Australians, with the world as their oyster, settle for the cup of hot chips that is the UK?

More later...

because it's nutritious and delicious.

Why do people like pop music?
bEcaUse it is cOOl. U mUst bE oLd aNd liSteN to cRap mUsic. U kNow nuThin.

Why do people watch reality TV?
Because reality TV is full of non-artificial cool people who aren't try-hards.

Why do people want the Australian flag to have the Union Jack on it?
because we are England's bitches.

Why do people go to Starbucks?
becasue they have the best coffee and the best baristas. Frapuccino with caramel and walnuts - class mate, claaaass!

Why do so many Australians, with the world as their oyster, settle for the cup of hot chips that is the UK?
because it makes much more sense to go over to Earl's Court or Willesden and party with other Aussies. It's not like you can do that at home you know.

Because people are inherently lazy.

Why do people like pop music?

Because they are told to.

do people watch reality TV?

Nothing else on.

do people go to live in places like Taylors Lakes?

Where the hell is that?

do people want the Australian flag to have the Union Jack on it?

They like it.

do people go to Starbucks?

To purchase coffee.

do so many Australians, with the world as their oyster, settle for the cup of hot chips that is the UK?

Because they feel a deep-rooted connection with the Mother Country.

Time saving & convenient.
Most mortgage owners are 2 income families with kids.
Who's got time to cook every night?

Plus massive advertising $'s to brainwash the younger mind set,

Taylors Lakes is high quality, affordable housing in a pleasant area.

You really should visit there sometime.

For coffee mostly.
A terrific selection of blends and flavours.
A personal favourite of mine actually.

I'll leave this one to ohers, I'm still kinda new here I Oz.

Personally travelling to/emulating the UK doesn't hold any appeal for me.

Why do people watch reality TV?
* Ditto, and makes them feel better about their own pathetic lives......but they are a laugh

Why do people go to live in places like Taylors Lakes?

Why do so many Australians, with the world as their oyster, settle for the cup of hot chips that is the UK?

I have no problem with Starbucks, but anyone who takes their coffee seriously doesn't go there.

Why do people eat McDonalds? Or any other chain fast food, for that matter?

It's easy, cheap, clean and consistent (OK consistently bad, but still consistent), and plays on kids emotional blackmail and tantrum skills

Why do people like pop music?

It's easy, accesible, catchy (I don't personall like it, but plenty do)

Why do people watch reality TV?

Nothing else on

Why do people go to live in places like Taylors Lakes?

Never heard of it, but I assume it's an outer suburb of large identical houses near a shopping mall. If so, because people want their own home, some land for the kids to play and basically a suburban way of life rather than living in a noisy, smelly, crowded city in a tiny apartment

Why do people want the Australian flag to have the Union Jack on it?

History, and there haven't been any better designs put up that are acceptable

Why do people go to Starbucks?

No idea - probably again the quick, clean, easy factor (although it is way too expensive)

Why do so many Australians, with the world as their oyster, settle for the cup of hot chips that is the UK?

Why not? History, family ties, sport, language etc etc I'd certainly rather go there than anywhere in Asia, Africa or South America

The serious reasons:

1) because people know what they're getting. You walk into any McDonalds in the world a get almost the same thing. Better the devil you know.
2) Full of sugar and people like sugar
3) Kids love it (because it's full of sugar)
4) Convenience in an ever increasing time poor society

Why do people like pop music?
Pop music is designed for kids. Kids fall for simple catchy lyrics and marketing such as film clips full of beautiful people.

Why do people watch reality TV?
Some people like laughing at people. Why do you think American Idol devotes so much to show idiots who have no talent?

Unfortunately some people like the drama of reality TV. This part has me stumped.

Why do people go to live in places like Taylors Lakes?
Good affordable housing. Many young families can't afford to buy in inner suburbs and don't want apartments and don't want to live in dodgy areas. In these new suburbs they can buy a nice clean new house in a nice looking suburb, and bring up their 2.4 kids and a dog.

Why do people want the Australian flag to have the Union Jack on it?
The same reason why people are monarchists. There are some republicans who don't mind the UJ, but show them a good looking flag design and they'll change their minds.

Why do people go to Starbucks?
Same reason as McDonalds. I iterate that people who are serious about coffee don't go here.

Why do so many Australians, with the world as their oyster, settle for the cup of hot chips that is the UK?
Because it's hard to get long term visas for Europe. Aussies can get 2 year UK visas and use that as base to go to and from the Continent. Makes perfect sense.

because they are fat, stupid idiots with no self pride.

Why do people like pop music?
because it is in their faces 24/7

Why do people watch reality TV?
because there are women in skimpy clothes more often then not.

Why do people go to live in places like Taylors Lakes?
i dont know where that is.

Why do people want the Australian flag to have the Union Jack on it?
because we have no identity of our own.

Why do people go to Starbucks?
Adelaide doesnt... i dont think we have it here yet.

Why do so many Australians, with the world as their oyster, settle for the cup of hot chips that is the UK?
as above, we have no national identity of our own.

Why do people like pop music?

Why do people watch reality TV?

Why do people go to Starbucks?

These four could probably be answered with one answer, and I don't think I need to elaborate on what that is.

And all the bull**** excuses they peddle to keep it.

It was only officially ratified as our national flag in it's current form in 1953 but the way the Monarchists and Traditionalists crap on about it you'd think it was already flying when Cook pulled in at Botany Bay and proclaimed this land for the Empire...

Why do people eat McDonalds? Or any other chain fast food, for that matter?

Its about convenience, consistency/assurance etc. Fast Food offers what stand-alone stores can not offer.

Why do people like pop music?

Well if they didnt, it wouldnt be poplular, would it?

Why do people watch reality TV?

I think "reality" TV is an oxymoron...it is so contrived and fake that it is anything but "real". I have no idea why people watch it.

Why do people go to live in places like Taylors Lakes?

The suburban dream for families. Some families arnt doing it as easy as others, and to some, those living in Taylors Lakes are doing very well for themselves.

Why do people want the Australian flag to have the Union Jack on it?

History, Tradition blah blah.

Why do people go to Starbucks?

It's about ambiance, atmosphere, consistency etc. The actual "coffee" is only small part of the "coffee culture" or experience. There's more to it than that.

A "serious" coffee lover wouldnt go out to get their coffee fix anyway. They'd go visit a wog.

Why do so many Australians, with the world as their oyster, settle for the cup of hot chips that is the UK?

They are the aussies who mainly cant afford to travel per se, but can do it via a working holiday. The UK is the only place a huge majority of Aussies can legally work. FWIW I couldnt wait to get out of the hole they call England and pity those who get stuck there.

Why are testicles external? It seems a ridiculous design fault.

It's not a design fault at all - quite the opposite in fact.

The sack is external, because the nuts need to be kept a little cooler than the rest of the body. If they get too hot, the juice is innefective.

I see, so it's the mixture which isn't up to scratch.

It's everywhere, it's vaguely appealing, it's convenient and it's so unfilling you find you have to go again.

Why do people like pop music?

Tonedeafness. All they hear is the beat.

Why do people watch reality TV?

Same reason they used to go see the freak show at the circus. They wanted to feel that they were better and more normal than others. And if you live in Footscray or Corio, where else will you get that buzz?

Why do people go to live in places like Taylors Lakes?

They think Mark Taylor lives there? Nah, it's because people have a thing for living in ugly identical little boxes. Just ask UK housing developers.

Why do people want the Australian flag to have the Union Jack on it?

It's a welcome relief from all the stars.

Why do people go to Starbucks?

I don't know anyone who does.

Why do so many Australians, with the world as their oyster, settle for the cup of hot chips that is the UK?

I've heard that if you want a scientific job, Australia is not the place. The intelligent are feared, and jobs hard to get. But why the UK, and not, say, Japan, Germany or even the Baltic states which are desperately trying to rebuild?

Why do people feel compelled to answer questions the same way that ten people before them already have?
