I assumed it meant chech each others work, but doesn't make sense on the landing. What is it?

Because less is more, so you pay more, but more is even more, so you pay more for it.

Putting the doors in manual means that the escape slides will NOT deploy if the door is opened. If they are in automatic (a switch the flight attendant flicks)the escape slide WILL deploy. Cross Checking means to double check the door opposite the one you are assigned to.

Being a cabin crew means a whole lot more than serving Singapore Slings and handing out headsets.
