Reading else where about these two boys as the hawks are ready to swap in order to get a key backmen in the side or an 1st round pick

personally we must have a look at Thorp for Thornton and pick 24 IMO.. Thoughts?

id consider it.... Thorpe would need to pass a rigorous medical and i have no idea how our staff see him but i think he will be a star if he gets hs head right. New club would be a good hting for him.

Pick 6 for 16 and Thorpe?..........Pass

If Hawthorn where to trade up, they want to make sure they get Hurley, pick 6 is no certainty to get him. Anyway i have a feeling pick 16 will be off to Sydney for O'Keefe.

Thorp would be a valuable asset to your side and be a walk up starter. This draft is weak, I would think it's a fair trade, 6 and 16 for Thorpe. He has huge wraps on him but can't get a game because we have such a good forward line. If I were Carlton I would take it, you have a one dimensional forward line with your key forward being 28 and a bloke like Thorp would not only be able to take the heat off Fev short term but he would also be a good investment for the future.. Think about it :-)

boy would i love this bloke in Navy Blue. His what we need. Freakish ability just got to get his head right. If we can get him for a straight swap for Thorton, then you just got to take it, even though he isnt proven at AFL level bar 1 game.

Beau Dowler on the other hand would/should come cheap. He is fast becoming obsolete down there, and a change of a home should do wonders. IIRC he was touted as top 3 before the accident, just lacking confidence. I'd offer Hawks our 3rd pick at best for him. Pick 6 is out of the question for sure!

No idea where you pulled that from but the top 10 is fairly high quality in my view. Pick 6 is out of the question for mine.

I highly doubt the legitimacy of this rumour, but just let me dream for one second..

Hurley, Thorpe and Warnock...

Sadly, won't happen :p

I doubt very much we would trade thorp as he just signed a 2 year deal but i guess you never know.

I hope we keep both of them.

Reliable sources have said just recently that they don't believe this draft is as good as first thought... I suppose we will have to wait and see a couple of years

Reliable Sauces, one of my favourite companies. They make a killer sweet chili and their barbeque is to die for!

He was playing on the wing at box hill towards the end of the season and was doing quite well. Maybe they will try and fit him into that position next year.

Don't forget both thorp and dowler have had pretty significant injuries and are probably only just coming good from those. I don't think thorp has had a preseason yet and dowler maybe has had only 1.

Personally i won't be happy if we trade either of them. The wraps the club have on thorp are pretty big so i would be very surprised if he goes.

I agree, I don't think this draft would be as good as the last 2 years. But that's my opinion. We just have to wait and see

I would love both of them in the navy blue.
What about.
Carlton trade: Pick 6 and our 3rd or 4th round pick
Hawthorn trade: Thorpe, dowler and pick 19

Contracts don't mean a hell of a lot during trade week unfortunately. Anyone has the potential to be traded. You'd think that with the Blues emerging, and with limited opportunity for Dowler and Thorp, player and/or Club would entertain the idea if a good deal could be reached. Very unlikely, but possible. :)

I think you're forgetting Thorp was a pick 6 (I'm sure you're not forgetting it). Really, this kid is just starting to get his body right and he will be a player worth watching. Thorp, when he gets a few games into him, will be able to do what Roughy does, even if it's 5-10 goals less, and Roughy can go down back. We will regret trading him. He recently came out and said he is more than happy to do his apprenticeship in the reserves and wait for his time to crack into the Snrs. How good an attitude was that...

I would wager he will end up better than Kennedy that left the Blues. If he goes to the Blues you guys will be luckier than you think.

Exact same thing happened 12 months ago to Josh Kennedy. Anything is possible.
