DanA said:Given that the dogs have few big forwards . Is it possible that one of Harley, Scarlett or Egan play at CHF? I can't understand why this has never been tried before.
jess_555 said:Probably because our defence would have a huge hole in it if any of those guys you named were to take on the CHF position. We neeeeeeeeed Scarlo in our backline for sure, thats what his best at and thats where he shoud stay (ESPECIALLY with Moondog out).
Devilcat said:I say we rush every tall forward we have on our list in for this game against the dogs. During the last few weeks our midfield has improved and I reckon they could keep up with the dogs - especially with their injuries through tmidfield, but I think we can catch them out with height. Don't want to be left looking like slow uncos though as we have in the past against pacy teams when we have tried this tactic.

It would seem pointless to bring in the likes of Playfair as a means of exploiting the dogs lack of height, while he may be tall, he's not a particulary strong mark, especially under pressure, and could prove a liability when the dogs are on the rebound.
Same thing with King, always shake my head when he goes forward and the tv commentators say he's going to "stretch" the opposition defence, when most of the marks he gets down there are uncontested on the lead, and you don't have to be 200 cms to do that, for a bloke his height, he would be one of the worst marks in a contested situation I can think of.

The Cats' coach said Mooney's omission from the side would give struggling forward Henry Playfair a chance to stake his claim as a permanent attacking option after spending considerable time in the reserves this season.
"What it does is it gives an opportunity to Henry Playfair, who's been in very good form and has been waiting his chance," Thompson said.
"We've been waiting for him to play the sort of footy he has in the reserves for awhile and earlier in the season we put him in, straight in, and backed him to play basically, and he wasn't able to achieve that.
"So he's gone back to the reserves and played well and deserves his chance. I'm sure Henry will come out and mark the ball in his arc, he won't be probably as effective as Cam Mooney but he'll still be pretty good."
