Now apparantly the carlton players have agreed to take a pay cut to fit daniel kerr into our salary cap.
Do you believe we would be better off trading off our draft picks for kerr
OR
Do you think our picks would be of more use trading elsewhere ie. Warnock (Fremantle), Egan (Geelong) ??
IMO i believe that we would be better off going for Warnock or Egan as we already have loads of talent in our midfield and i think we would get more use from a good tap ruckman or CHB.

I was going to start a thread about Egan, but since you've mentioned him in here now there is no need.

In my opinion, he is the one we should be going after. An absolute gun and who knows what Geelong's stance is in regards to his future, we should definitely test the waters.

It all depends on what's on offer.

Kerr is an absolute gun. Swap him for Scotland or Simpson last saturday and we win the game. Simple as that.

I agree we have a greater need for a good tall forward, but if there's no first-rate tall forward available i'd rather take Kerr if we can get him.

Yeh agreed, although i think we could use a tap ruckman to help kreuzer with the rucking duties, and we could then chuck cloke chf, i also believe that egan to chb and waite to chf could get us a long way.

Also Agree, IMO apart from judd we have very few gut running midfielders such as kerr, and although i also believe that we should go for a quality tall forward first, who wouldnt be better off without a superstar such as daniel kerr

Of course we could use a tap ruckman, but we've done fairly well this season considering we've been getting hammered in the hitouts. If you put Egan at CHB (with Jamison, Bower, Thornton, Grigg, Walker and/or Bannister) it's a good back 6, you then switch Waite to CHF which gives another leading/marking option for the midfielders which would improve our side heaps.

People are just concerned with the attitude and his prior history, there's no doubting he's a gun player and a midfielder that never stops running, but if the rumours are true and he wants $1m p/y, I'm not prepared to pay it and I hope the club aren't. I'd love to see Kerr in the navy blue next year but the fact is with him contracted, WCE hold all the cards if we are to deal with them, they'll want to bleed us dry and we wont have a bar of it. Nothing will come of it.

i would like to have daniel kerr at carlton. but for 1mill a year? who is he kidding? maybe he's just started the free agency talks more and more.

you know the player nominates the club and says get me there.

is kerr interested in playing for anyone else than carlton? (if of course the rumour is this strong)

if so, who? why? and how much should we pay for kerr in terms of trade and also $$. if we are to snare him.

my guess is first round pick and a player? i don't know which player

500k for money, maybe 600.

any thoughts?

Wrote this in another Kerr thread but looks like that threads' just about finished, so i though i'd chuck my comments in this kerr thread....

My post....I wasn’t aware that pav (someone had mentioned Pav) is out of contract??? If so that’s the bloke the blues hierarchy should be having dinner with at Raheen!

As for Kerr he isn't worth 1m a year - seriously who really believes that??? Honestly it would be awesome if we got Kerr to Carlton, but you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure out he won’t be coming cheap.

Just a couple of thoughts...firstly I’ll spew if Walker is included in this trade!

a) Apart from giving up a top 1 or 2 pick for the sweetener is there any chance we could involve the hawks - off load Thornton and a lower pick(they have wanted him in the past and I think Bower & Austin will be better in years to come) for one of there potential gun youngsters like Mitch Thorpe or Beau Dowler who are yet to play with the hawks this year.

b) Is it possible, if were not in finals contention play Hartlett in the last two games and just hope he plays well and West Coast take notice. If this does actually happen I would still have no problem with Hartlett going because I don't rate him!

For me the untouchables: Judd, Fev, Murph, Stevo, Gibbs (star), Bower, Jamo, Austin, Kreuz, Walker, Grigg & Browne.

So Honestly apart from the rest I wouldn’t think West Coast would be too interested in that lot – they are rebuilding.

Hawthorn could go for a player like Thornton because they are just about there with their list!

Thoughts anyone?

Kerr would be awesome but if I had to choose I would rather a KKP rather than Kerr! Just wish we had Kennedy back!!

A small mid field player is not going to cure us of our problems. We need a 2 or 3 key position players. I would rather keep the draft picks as there are some young guns who will turn out to be stars. Or go after J. Brown and see if we can get him down to Carlton

If we get Kerr at a reasonable price then there will be a party in my pants and everyone will be invited.

Having said this though I really think we need to go after an established ruckman and maybe a small crumming forward.

Pav signed last year for 3 more years ...so another one out of the equation but at least of good character...

No Kerr !! He is not The Messiah hes just a naughty boy..lol

I think our first round pick will likely get one of those forwards this year.

I'm all for getting Kerr, but we're in a weaker bargaining position than we were with Judd and we had to give up plenty then.
