54Dogs. IMO your being to protective. Your deleting threads right left and center. Some are correctly deleted, but some threads your deleting had some good discussion in them and you go bang and delete it. It is starting to get annoying.

You are an absolutely brilliant contributor on this board, better then ill ever be. But im just saying one or two threads being made you can leave them. The ones that are obvious go bang and delete em. But IMO it annoys how your deleting most threads created. Many may disagree.
I just wanted to state my point.

If people learnt how to use the forum properly, we wouldn't have problems and threads wouldn't need to be locked

Seems like he's doing a reasonable job.

There is no need to create a new thread for each separate players injury, for example. Just clogs up the board.

Why not PM him and ask him this?

To the new mod, keep up the good work and hopefully people will learn to not start a new thread when one already exists.

Andrew Raines has almost two threads created a day, if people just spent 5 seconds using the search function, then they may save the mods having to delete threads.

I agree with Tarquin, so many shite threads created especially in the weeks leading up to lockout. Dogs is doing a great job keeping on top of it all.

Some people seem to think their minor problem/thought of the day is worthy of a thread and it just clogs up the board to no end. Anyone that was a regular over the summer would agree that the standard had dropped off.

I actually feel the board is less cluttered which is great. Keep up the good work 54Dogs!

I agree. Great work Dogs. :thumbsu:

That's what people have banged on about for a good year or two, that's what they're getting now. He's doing everything required.

If you think back to this time last year, the board has definitely improved, and has a much better structure with popular topic-specific threads, rather than 10 on the same topic, which was pretty common last year.

I think Dogs is doing a superb job :thumbsu:.

EDIT: And yeah, a PM probably would've been more appropriate than a thread.

Lock thread :).

I agree just because Pavlich is top of your mind doesn't mean a new thread - there are already threads for this stuff.

I agree some of the threads that his deleting are very good.
His doing a great job but i just reckon 1 or 2 threads that had some good discussion are getting thrown into the trash.

Over the past couple of weeks there have been a substantial number of new threads started which are particularly specific to either one player, one injury, one team etc. These are having the effect of clogging up the front page of the board so that solid threads are being lost in the pecking order. To assist keep a level of order so that everyone has a fair chance to have their issue / topic discussed could you please adhere to the following when posting:

* Individual player discussion to be in the Player Discussion thread
* Trading discussion to be in the 2009 Trading Discussion thread
* Injury / suspension discussion to be in the 2009 Season Injuries & Suspensions thread
* General DT discussion for topics which do not fit above in the General Dream Team Discussion thread

Each week there will also be new threads established for the following

* Gameday discussion
* Teams (1 stickied for teams only + 1 teams discussion thread)
* Post your scores
* Captains discussion thread

Obviously from time to time there will be a need to create new threads for topics which do not fit into these categories however if the majority of is completed in these 8 threads this will help keep a reasonable level of structure on the board.

Thanks for your support.

Seems pretty clear as to what warrants threads. This was in the rules thread. Perhaps give that a read and then see what you think. If you still feel its happening perhaps you should send Dogs a PM. Believe me its better like this then having 6 threads for each player.

I agree. I have nothing against you personally its just that you go over the top when deleting threads. Don't be put down by this or any other comment in this thread. Its just an opinion.

Thanks for the feedback Adam, in normal circumstances I'd respond to this via PM but obviously there are others out there feeling the way you do whilst some people believe the change is beneficial.

In normal circumstances I would not be as vigilant as I have in the past week or so but really what we are trying to do is drive a behavioural change in people opening threads for every topic of interest to them. You make a good point that many of these topics are relevant and create good discussion which is absolutely true but if we can get to a stage where this discussion can be conducted in 8-10 broader threads (as noted in the rules thread) hopefully this will allow all members to have their topic discussed and keep good quality threads on the front page of the board.

It's certainly not fun having to close 12 of the last 150 threads created but I would like to think that means 138 have been left open so plenty of discussion has been generated. Hopefully it's some short term pain for long term gain.

Any support that posters can give to keep a level of structure would be appreciated and thanks to those of you who have been using the threads as mentioned above by Frantelle. Obviously from time to time an issue creates such a level of interest that common sense must prevail and a new thread is required. Raines and Anthony this week were perfect examples of confirmed injured players with enough following to warrant a new thread.

Obviously I can't be online all the time so any support regular posters can give to direct new members to the correct thread would be appreciated, particularly if new threads continue to be created for issues which could fit within a general thread.

Thanks for your support and happy to discuss any areas of concern with any members via PM.

I think since dogs has become a mod, the main DT board has improved rapidly. People start threads too much, often for questions that could simply be answered by one line in a discussion thread that already exists.

Keep up the good work dogs :)

agreed, but at least he does a good job overall.

Doing well Dogs, also agree with Adam though, unless the thread is absolutely pointless, it shoudn't be locked or deleted. If the thread has no point then no one should reply to it and it will fall away in no time anyway.

The problem is that the decent threads below it also fall away. Have a look on page two or three of this forum there are some pretty good threads that have been lost and will be tough to resurrect. I don't care how popular a player is, they don't deserve their own thread. In my opinion.

Gary Ablett breaks leg at training!

I'd create a new thread ;)

But I agree with your points made.
