We got trashed by carlton but one of the good things was that david gourdis played really well.If we want to develop him , he need to stay for next weeks game. Also i thought we were to short in the backline so i would be in Rance as it would be good to see him play KPD not on the wing, also we should try troy taylor as we need another option up forward

I thought Gourdis showed a little bit early but got destroyed as the game went on. Got lost in traffic and the speed of the game was too much.

Don't know why we'd drop Thursfield who is 10x the player.

Was not destroyed and Thursty would be about 1.5x times play at this early stage

Goo showed quite a bit. The step up from VFL is always very hard and for him to do it so well means he deserves the rest of the year.

Gourdis will keep his spot because we want to get games into him and Hardwick will want the best pick possible right now.

I can cop the poor games... every team has them.
Young squad, perhaps 'tiring after a long season' and all that.
But why do we seem to save our worst form for the felchers from Princess Park?????

I hate them sooooooooo much it pisses me off more than just a bad loss when we make those arsewipes look so good.

The first half was probably the worst I have seen us play in a long time. Only thing that stopped it from being worse was that Carlton were wasteful and the skills from both sides were poor. If that was against the cats or pies we would have been down by 90 odd points at halftime.

Gourdis was good, a more than servicable debut game. Needs to play out the year and look to cement his spot in the best 22 by Round 1 2011. Thursfield, McGuane, Moore, Gourdis, Astbury, Grimes and maybe even Post should be fighting it out over the preseason for spots and thats great particularly for depth.

There was a case of some very tired kids out there though, the seasons about a month too long for us with so many young guys running around and some key players missing. A couple of positives, but really a poor effort and dissapointing result. I can understand it though, there are still a few lows to be had before we get the consistant highs.

Mate! Seriously? You are letting your anger for Thursfield being dropped overshadow Gourdis's game. He walked into a baptism of fire. The ease and frequency in which the ball came into Carlton's forward line meant that no defender (Especially not Thursfield) would have been able to stop the onslaught of goals...

Especially not Thursfield? Mate...you are showing your dislike of thursty.

Yep...im a Thursty fan.

Mate. I quite like Thursty, think he is one of our better defenders. However, I also understand that Hardwick wants to try other (YOUNGER) players and that will come at the expense of older players. Then again, it's not like we are playing for anything.. We are second bottom in R20, yet people are complaining about kids getting a run.....un-fukn-believable!

Do the umpires hate us? Or is it the same for every team?

bad day to trial the 'wipe the face' free kick i'll admit. was pretty bad but didn't notice it being too one way while at the ground :S

Umpiring seemed shit at the time, due to the way our team was playing, tired and unenthused. In hindsight, wasn't so bad. Two decisions stood out early on though. The hold on Garlett 20m out against O'Reilly, I mean WTF?!?! How can you possibly see something that just didn't happen  And the decision against Lids on Henderson was just drop-worthy, simple as that. If that umpire does not get the arse next week, the system is ****ed. Based on that, if you ruffle an opposition player's hair, it is a free kick every single time.

Umpiring was crud. But's it's been crud for us all year.
We lost because we weren't as good as the opposition.
Simple as that.
