A bloke that's getting at least 25% of your cap comes 18th in the BnF and that's justification to break out the Kleenex again?

I get it. The bloke that took two marks & kicked two goals of merit in a GF is worth $1M dollars.

We all hope the Dogs stick that list management strategy going forward.
Tell us again how Carlisle went in the BnF?

No sure the relevance but rather ironic given the Bulldogs have a player in the same boat and chased Carlisle too.

i love this one. this bolded statement just makes me so happy.

the bulldogs, controversially to saints fans, never really made an offer for Carlisle because we wanted to speak to him first. Saints fans on bigfooty beat their chests about how we should harden up and make an offer if we wanted him and poo pooed Beveridge's stance of wanting to at least meet him first.

not two weeks later he's embarrassing your whole football club snorting coke on a current affair show after he shat on your team's bargaining power by saying he'd go to hawthorn if it came to it.

anyway, i suppose i'll relate this anecdote back to the thread. in my debate with saints posters at the time, it was constantly blubbered to me that if we didn't spend all our coin on Boyd we could afford a meeting with Jake Carlisle.

Well suffice to say i'm glad we paid up for Boyd and i'm glad we requested an interview for Carlisle. I was banned from that thread on your board for talking sense despite historically and since then being positive about the saints, but it pleased me to see you all melting the moment Jakey's coke video came out

He didn't meet with you because he didn't want to play for you (or more he wanted to play under Richo).

Would any club sign a player without meeting with them? That's not an indication of anything other than Carlisle already having made up his mind.

The rest of your crap is just that. Crap.

We got 2 seasons out of Crameri before he was suspended and only gave up pick 25.

Your million dollar man cost pick 5 and didn't play.

Premierships. Boyd 1 - Carlisle 0

And 2>1 :)

nah funnily enough everything, including his manager demanding a pre meeting offer, did in fact happen. So you're wrong

Come on dude, he didn't want to meet with the coach until he had a contract on the table. That should say it all

It does. It tells me he wasn't going to waste his time unless there was a ridiculous offer on the table.

Why would you if you already knew where you wanted to play?

my favourite part was your folk saying Bevo was being a sook for wanting to interview him before coming up with the cash.

suffice to say his desire for an interview was reasonable and rational as Jake embarrassed your club the moment you got him

So now we're taking shots for something somebody else said?

That makes even less sense than some of the justifications in this thread.
taking shots? just clarifying info on our club's "chasing" of Carlisle.

and when you're not accepting the grandest of justifications- the delivery of a premiership cup- i'm not really sure how you'll come around to understanding

Leave Jeff Dunne alone. The only thing he has to look forward to is creaming in his pants everytime Paddy or Billings get a touch. Things like winning a Premiership is something he wont live to see.

So now we have poor list management....... I didn't see too many players unhappy winning a premiership on Saturday. Sure some will command more money in future years and MAY put pressure on out cap but rest assured. Each and everyone of them has a premiership medallion and I had great joy watching them receive them.

Bulldogs premiers 2016. God it feels good to type that.

Can't believe this thread is still going. I commend you all for stretching it out this far. Maybe a recess until next season until "Premiership" player Million dollar man Tom Boyd drops a sitter in a NAB Challenge game and the discussion can start again. Interesting that with all the cashola Boyd is getting Dogs were still under the cap this year.
