Yeah. And what?

He played really well. No one is disputing that.

But you still have a shitload of work left to do to explain how he's worth a million bucks a season.
Listen mate you've gone on and on for pages and pages asking the same questions but not caring about a single answer given and putting words in people's mouths.
Boyd was recruited to help win us a flag. His market value was high. We won the flag. He is now worth every cent. And don't ask me any questions,it's pretty simple.

With the deals getting thrown around already this off season Tom Boyds deal just gets better and better in my eyes. 500k for Vickery? 600k for Wells?!

Tom Boyd is on roughly 250k more than Wells next year, I know which one I'd rather on the books

What happens if he regresses and becomes Harry O, or even worse Zac Dawson?

Wanna bet? I haven't eaten, drank or slept in 10 days. Watching Tom Boyd kick the winning goal in the Grand Final is all I need to sustain me.

I did the same with Isaac Smith's long bomb goal in the 2013 gf.
After his easy set miss in the QF.... *hides under a rock* LOL

You think Boyd will have a better 2017 than Wells? That's a big call. Wells finished 4th in our B&F coming off a limited pre season.

I'd think Tom Boyd's worth to the Bulldogs is streets ahead of Wells' worth to Collingwood. Even with Cloke on the list, he is critical as he was this year in finals given his size and position. Wells may well have a better year, but there's a reason why KPFs are so highly saught after.

Boyd has every chance to become a gun and the grand final should give him a lot of confidence - but I don't see 2017 being the year he performs consistently at a high level. Wells stays fit and he will play at a consistent high level.

But seriously, how did Nathan Freeman go? How anyone who has traded for him can question other clubs' list management beggars belief.
You know, if you had paid closer attention to the whole Freeman trade you would realise he's a long term investment, not just an injuried plagued bloke we picked up in hope that he'd magically be fine the minute he walked through the front door of the Saints. Richo said at the start of the year, he doesn't care if Freeman doesn't play a game all year it's about getting his body right now so he'd be better off in the future. Has been tracking very well the last 2-3 months and fully expect him to have a big pre season. Don't everyone write him off before he even gets a chance to prove himself

I don't disagree with any of that at all.

But having said that, I still personally believe Boyd's worth to the team next year (even if his output isn't as high as Wells') should be much greater given the type of player he is.
