What would they get for such things ? A slap in the wrist if anything at all.

You do 4 years for killing people in this country.

Any fines would be way less than missed match payments.

One of the greatest boxers of all time has weighed in on the Bugg hit on Mills, saying there was nothing in it and that Mills was incredibly unlucky to be knocked out.

Danny Green has said that Bugg did not intend to hit Mills in the head and that the only reason Mills was knocked out was because he has a weak chin.

This has changed my opinion on the incident. Danny Green is a champion Boxer, it's his job to throw punches. He knows the force required to knock someone out, what is deliberate and what isn't. I think people should give Bugg a break, as an expert on the topic has given an opinion that sheds new light on the incident.

Hypocritical by Green given his work with the One Punch Campaign.

The facts are, Bugg deliberately punched him. He aimed for the head, anyone suggesting otherwise is stupid as he had time enough to look at Mills and throw.

It was a deliberate act and he caught Mills off guard. It was a thug act, AND if it happened in the street, I dare say Green would be whistlinb a different tune.

Meanwhile, Green has slammed the Fahour punch. Both deliberate, dogs acts.

The reason guys in footy don't incur criminal charges is because by playing the game, you actually consent to assault.

That's broadly speaking. You most definitely consent to all forms of assault (tackling, bumping, accidental contact, etc) that are within the rules of the game.

Then the is borderline stuff, that the tribunal deals with.

Anything clearly outside the rules and norms of the game would be criminal though. Like if you you repeatedly kicked a player on the ground in the head for example.

Running from behind and from so far away really makes the consent line pretty thin. You don't expect that at all. His only defence would be that there was a brawl, and he would be expected to help teammates and stop them from getting hurt. I think the minute the victim enters a brawl, they somewhat escalate the level of consent to some form of assault. If we still think this takes it too far then it could be criminal assault.

If you go outside the rules you are open to criminal charges like anyone else.

This changed your opinion on the incident ? What are you thinking mate. Sad cheap shot at Mills from Green. Expert schmekspert more like too many hits to the head. Yeah what a hero, maybe he wouldn't have gone down from the hit and maybe even countered with a quick combination. Disgrace from Green.

It's not political correctness to expect players to not punch other players in the head.

That's not what the topic is about, he didn't say mills deserved it. A professional boxer said it was a bloody unlucky shot and mills has a weak chin.

Listening to people follow instructions on how to think and act for fear of having a different opinion isn't.
The bogey monster is real.

Yes but it's also beside the point.
Mills and bugg are unlucky the punch connected so well and mills was knocked out.
Bugg is not unlucky to get suspended. He didn't need to throw a punch

Cue the personal attacks and calls for sacking etc for Danny Green having an opinion that goes against the PC driven message as is the way of 2017

No one is denying him the right to offer up an idea that is completely moronic champ :thumbsu:

It's apportioning blame to the victim. It is a stupid comment from Green. That's my opinion and I don't really care for political correctness.
