hes checked out

Definitely seems to have dialled it back compared to his intensity earlier in the season, but I'm not sure I can blame him. St Kilda already know what he can do, it's not like he has to prove anything more.

Why risk a $1.7m payday when your team is gonna miss finals and are probably set for a mini-rebuild at year's end anyway?

Dont believe a player scales back when on the ground but not winning is frustrating and he may just be in a mindset where frustration kicks in as well as doubts and just doesnt have that extra spark. Hope he gets back to his dynamic best as i dont want to trade him out of my SC team :D

Saint kilda must be the dumbest team in the league... Who on Earth pays 1.7m for a ruckman, one that isn't even the best in the league? Go after Bont or Cripps or Petracca or Cameron or any game changing best of the best player with that kind of money....

I'll be spewing if we stays with us for 1-1.1m a yr, he's worth 700-800k at best.

Are any of the Bont, Cripps etc free agents at the end of this season?

Was he a St Kilda supporter growing up ?

Looks like we've uncovered a flaw in the Saints recruitment strategy.
We should be targeting blokes in the last years of their careers who captain their clubs.

Or, maybe that's why TDK at 26 next year is the only correct option for us.

If they do miss out the Carlton have increased their offer to something like $1.4
No player leaves that much on the table especially with Carlton looking like missing finals and possible rebuild of sorts
Finn Callaghan did

Perhaps TDK would prefer to take his chances with the Carlton coterie club for setting himself up after footy.

If so i hope he gets that in writing.
$5 mil in hand guaranteed is a LOT of money and is life changing stuff

Pretty much means a beautiful house in Brighton all paid for with just the difference in the 2 deals ;)
The reason why i say brighton is that seems to be a good meeting point ;)

Brighton's overrated. Much prefer to live in Kew or Camberwell and just buy a holiday house for summer down in Sorrento

Tom De Koning here in Melbourne is increasingly likely to leave now. That’s not an earth-shattering statement.
It’s gone from supreme confidence at the Blues initially that he would stay, to then hope. And now, it would be described as almost resignation that he will accept the big-money offer from St Kilda.
The longer it goes, well, we know how this movie plays out.
There’s been no movement thus far over the Carlton bye period when these things generally progress. Nothing, tumbleweeds.
They could be surprised, but let’s say he leaves for the Saints. Does Rowan Marshall have a decision to make? He’s flirted with a move in the past, there’s no doubt about that. He has signed until 2027, but if Tom De Koning comes in, is Marshall happy to stay?”
