I still don’t think we’re any good but jeez losing 3 games by under a goal. Could easily have been top 4 at this stage of the season.

Idk if you will make finals this year, I haven't even looked at your remaining fixture. I'll tell you what though, your boys are gonna be premiership contenders very, very soon. Really good top end talent on all lines and some of your youngsters look like being future superstars. Nik Cox in particular is gonna be stupidly good. Also, good to see Parish finally break out and put himself firmly in the elite midfielder club.

The top 4 is tight..

One of Melbourne, Port, Geelong, Bulldogs and Brisbane has to miss it.
Port look the most vulnerable. Only been able to beat one top 8 side so far.

Wouldn't count us out yet, got some of the troops back relatively easy run home. Our record for the back half of the season is impeccible can we do that again? Be pretty tight but we could get into 4th spot. The Geelong and Lions return games are massive.

that win v GWS has kept your top 4 chances alive

2 games and % is doable but if it was 3 games & % that would be close to impossible

Yeah but their remaining fixture is very nice.

That's true they play the vast majority of their games against the good sides at home.

Geelong's next 3 games will certainly give a better picture of how the top 4 may pan out.

Port at AO
Dogs at GMHBA
Brisbane at the Gabba
**** that is a decent run of games

And we know finishing 5th is usually a big penalty. Only 3 preliminary finalists (2007, 2014, 2018) from 5th under the current finals format and half eliminated in week 1.

If they win them all they certainly are contenders.
I'd be happy with 2-1, it's a very big ask though. 1-2 looking likely and 0-3 certainly possible

i agree that its top 4 or you're not winning the flag, but in just 5 years (since the pre-finals bye) the dogs, melbourne and gws have made prelims from 5th or worse. Its been just over 1 every 2 years, ie 60% of the time there is a prelim finalist from outside the top 4. Looking at it slightly differently 15% of prelim finalists in 5 years have been from outside the top 4. That seems about right given the top 4 are supposed to be better teams, but can be beaten by other top 8 teams on their day.

Given it didn't happen last year its odds on to happen again this year, especially since 2 of sydney/geelong/port will be 5th and 6th.

I have Richmond finishing the season around 6th. I think the current top 8 is set for who makes it, no disrespect to Essendon but I think GWS is the only team currently not in the 8 that can challenge for a position.
