How did Justin Leppitsch make it before Scott West, Brett Ratten, Joe Misiti and the Bronlow Medallist Shane Woewodin?????.

How did Peter Riccardi make it at 36 and Hawthorn Best and Fairest Daniel Chick not even make it?????

How did Gavin Wankaneen come in 32, yet Ben Graham came at 50.

Mike Sheahann is a total and utter idiot who cannot pick a top 50 if his life depended on it, what a loser.

Biased!! But you have to admit, Leppitsch is a great player.

I dont think it is biased, Leppitsch had his year in 99, and although he was good again last year, he was far from being the best full back. I thought plenty of players were better than him last year and will be this year. Sheehan, get it right!

This will be the first and last time I'll ever say anything in favour of Matthew Lloyd, but how could Sheehan have him at #3 last year, the guy goes out and kicks what, 110 odd goals, and he drops 6 places to #9 ??
What was he supposed to do, kick 600 to keep his ranking? I'm sure that he bases some of his selections on last years performances, others on that players value to his team, that way he can justify any selections, eg no way on last years form would you have Crawford in the top 50, but fit and firing he's in the Hawks' top 3 without a doubt. Every year I promise I won't look at Sheehans top 50, but it's like a car accident.... it's horrible, you shouldn't look it ends up making you feel sick but you can't avoid it.

Once upon a time I would have been worked up about the blatant stupidity of Sheahans list, but now I just glance over it, shake my head in amazement and turn the page.

What Mike Sheehan thinks he knows and what actually knows are two very different things.

Hawkfan5, Mike Sheehan's list leaves Robert Walls' for dead. At least Sheehan gave Holland the credit he deserved. I'd have Holland in my team ahead of Whitnall anyday. Sheehan also put Croady in the team too. He should of had Chick in instead of Thopmson though.

Of course you would since you barrack for Hawthorn. But why? Whitnall is better. Full stop. Kicks more goals, takes more marks, sets up more goals. It was only last year that everyone could finally say, "At last, Nick Holland is finally fulfilling his potential. But even then his season was inferior to Whitnall's.

Also, I think Whitnall is every bit as good as Lloyd. He doesn't play full forward so he does pretty well to come second in the goal kicking. Lloyd kicks goals, but that's all. Whitnall takes many more marks, sets up stacks of goals and runs the show in the forward line. He's two years younger also - what a future he has!!

I don't like replying to unregistered users, but anyway...

I never said Whitnall was better - didn't you read the post I wrote? What I AM saying is that the goals that he doesn't kick that Lloyd does are made up for in his overall contribution. But I dunno how anyone can justify Holland being better....what has he done to prove that????
