Easy decision on Honeychurch, a little harder for Campbell but he has been there a while and we would be better getting another player in because he really has never been in the best 22.

Boy I would love to have an established dominant ruckman. We always seem to get killed by those teams that have one. Hopefully English gets there one day. Looks like we will be going into next season with English with some help from Boyd and Trengove, who actually did not too bad in the Ruck over the second half of the season so maybe that also influenced the decision on Campbell.

Still feel we need another forward who can reliably kick goals and although I know a few on here don’t want Menzel, I for one would be happy if we picked him up as a delisted free agent. We need good goal kickers and we also need a bit more experience with such a young team and I think he brings both. Otherwise we go to the draft and make the best of the picks we have got.

A little surprised we didn’t keep Campbell for depth after roughy left.

Here is the unsurprising thing.
The afl. BY introducing a preseason and mid season draft have slashed 1 ruckman off every Afl list. Clubs happy to go in with 2/3 rather than traditional 4/5. All because they know if the u know what hits the fan they can wait a few weeks and grab the best an established big man playing state league footy!

No need to carry a ruck like Campbell anymore. See who the best state leaguer is and grab them

That’s a really interesting angle actually, hadn’t thought of that. I guess as others have said, TC couldn’t get a game even when the cupboard was bare. Would have made it tough for him to stay motivated.

Absolutely. Had their limitations as AFL players but never heard a bad word about either as clubmen or blokes (Tom was leadership group at one point and did captain us in a pre-season cup match). Think the club made the right call but both deserve respect for their years of service. All the best to both

I honestly don’t think we will. Bevo is utterly dogmatic about flexibility. Menzel is the last type of player he’d be keen on, no pressure, no capability to do anything other than be a forward who slots a few and nothing else. At least Schache has scope to be something else other than a lead up and I’m confident he will (despite his shared lack of pressure with menzel)

I’d be utterly shocked if we do it. Bevo is capable of making mistakes (I.e. mistifying ruck decisions). This won’t happen though.

It’s something that really doesn’t fit with everything we know about our coach who, make no mistake, is now in complete control of everything to do with our list. Power is someone who’ll bend to whatever he wants, that’s why we got him.

Wouldn’t bother me either way, we aren’t doing much next year so I don’t really care who the last players on the list are next year.

We have already resigned a few that shouldn’t have got another chance so why not give someone another crack at it?

But after sighing Lloyd I’d be shocked also if we went for him
