If he is out of contract it doesn't really matter what the Eagles want - they have no hand.

Still would do next yrs first if enough came back our way. Surely Eagles priority will be to get Kelly currency.

Petrucelle and 1st rounders in the same sentence is absolute lunacy.
Besides his pace he’s not an outstanding footballer.
Would entertain a trade for picks but including a first rounder is laughable.

If even a footy nuffy like me could ID Petrucelle as a target months ago so you'd hope so.

Offer next yr first to help them get T Kelly would want something else plus Petrucelle though maybe one or two second rds. Might be overpaying but really quick fwds don't grow on trees.

I think that is overpaying. Our early second is about right. They have numerous other options at that position.
We may provide a player to a third team instead but doubt a first rounder gets used in this trade.

Yep.
2 tackles a game and 0.5 tackles inside 50 per game. He’d be a very ordinary player if WC weren’t a dangerous team in the fwd half.

Not at all. He is now thinking that a player being offered $500k per year means our pick ~10 is in play for him. So not only does he not understand player values, but he also massively overrates Petrucelle. I'd dismiss this one entirely

Well we are underperforming now and I don’t think he would change that. I’m not saying he’s a bad player but if we threw a first rounder away for him it would be awful business. Even a second round pick would be well over the top in my opinion.

I would argue were overperforming given our list demographic. We're on the edge of finals while playing the second youngest side.

I do agree about his price, a first rounder should just be laughed at - I'd be happy with trading two of our 3rd rounders, but I'm not sure how much value they'd hold for the Eagles as they need more early picks

What is it about him that has people convinced he can be a difference maker, rather than somebody who can take advantage of playing alongside Kennedy, Darling, Rioli, Cripps etc?

I haven't seen enough of Petruccelle to form an opinion, but I do worry about smalls that are really fast and playing just solid footy in a good team with a good forward line. Petruccelle ran a 2.89 second 20 metre sprint in his draft year, there is an Irish boy on the rookie list at Brisbane
who went 2.69 seconds last year which is low flying kicked five Goals in the NEAFL the other day.

Some athletes who t rest great for speed or agility etc have trouble transferring that to something of a weapon in game and something you really notice. With petrucelle you can't help but notice.

We're honestly not that bad for medium forwards; Lloyd is experienced and is playing really well, Dale is more of a forward then a wing and Greene was a pretty sneaky forward in his first season.
