Would much prefer Dale to Stephenson.Dale when fully fit is a huge talent and capable of doing some real damage. Way overs for a player who is fragile and needs to put on 10 kegs. Dale gets bagged for not being hard enough , but hey - let’s replace him with Stephenson, who has been relentlessly bagged for being soft.

Dale just needs a good pre season and an uninterrupted run. If we trade him we will see him thrive elsewhere and wonder why we let him go.

Maybe I rate him too highly - but he is the next Williams in my opinion - is capable of a major jump in performance

I‘m a big Dale supporter to, and also wondered if I rated him to highly, but appears we aren’t alone. He is one player who really splits opinions thou. He has weapons; pace, overhead mark and can kick a long goal. If he can find some physical and mental toughness his attributes mean he could be very, very good.

Stephenson a must.

What could a deal look like? What about a straight swap for richards?

Clearly I’d prefer to use Dale or Schache as a basis for the trade, but would that fly?

Pick 12 straight up would be about fair considering he was a #6 pick 3yrs ago.

Dale or Schache included, I’d want at least a late second rounder for this year back our way

Hearing that Dunkley is staying and we can expect an announcement of a contract extension soon...
Stay tuned
Very very happy that he's staying, bit miffed we've been forced to sign an extension at I imagine a much bigger price. Feels like we've been played a bit here.

Essendon got pick 7 for Daniher.

Compo system is weird.
Being a non zero-sum game, free agency compo in general is a joke. Every other club that doesn't participate gets punished as a result of any FA transaction. Compensation should be scapped entirely IMO, or at worst kept out of the first round.

Compo system is weird.

More or less confirms Crouch will get the crows pick 2 as well, what a load of shit.

Can’t really help it now, but hopefully it will lead to massive changes to how the system works now. Your ladder position shouldn’t dictate where your pick lies, if anything they should be end of rounds only

My reaction as well.
Will be glad if he stayed but to use Essendon against us to bump his contract up. Don't like it.
we don’t know if it’s at a higher rate though to be fair. Dunks is being offered 5+ years could very well just be a case of wanting us committing to him long term with a price increase from year 3 depending on KPIs etc.

3 year contract for band 1, geeeeez that would want to be at 1mil a year which I highly doubt. What a flipping joke. So pick 12 to become pick 15 or 16 and not be anywhere near matching a JUH bid

Those compo picks don’t effect the points value of original draft picks.

It's reported as $700k. I'd be questioning that if I were GWS given they got Band 3 for Corr on a similar sized contract

Our Pick 12 is going to be Pick 15 by the time the compo picks come in. What a genuine joke free agency compensation is
