Maybe Dunkley knew this was coming the whole time and while some of us suspected he had his eye on the Lions’ captaincy, he’s actually hoping to be a playing captain-coach.
You're on the right track but this is actually to get Andrew the coaching job he felt he deserved 20 years ago

I don’t bemoan someone taking the cash (although I dig nobility as the greatest “why”)

But

Dunkley is approaching Griffen levels of spoilt sh*tc*nt.

His camp were bitching about Sydney before he was drafted it, he slapped us in 2020 and his camp is allowing more slagging of us now. And it really sounds like he’s got the wrong people around him – built him up to be an entitled and selfish individual
and naïve, i doubt he'll find the grass is greener elsewhere

Where was I putting words in his mouth? I gave him the right to deny he didn't take. People can have different opinions thats the point of this site is it not to debate differing opinions? Or do we all just have to think the same and agree with everything said?

Fwiw I didn't have the same take as you either.

Is the ABC comparatively better, of course.
Is it holistically better? Plenty of recent non-reporting on seemingly big issues to suggest not.

Perfectly legitimate stance to think the vast majority of mainstream journalists are tarred with the same brush, imho.

I don't particularly trust the ABC definitely does not automatically equate to, I love a tabloid.

I think they're all fairly terrible but the ABC is the only one that has proper standards they have to meet being state funded broadcaster

I was angry with Griffen at the time but nowhere near as angry as I am with Dunkley. The p** has done the 'I wanna trade' spoilt toddler thing twice now and clearly as you say has s* people around him (hi Dad). But, hey, he can go and preen himself up and down Brisbane's main strip and be ignored by the entire city because they have no idea who he is. He'll hate that.
Nah Griff went about it like a coward. Requested a trade then ****ed off so no one could speak to him.
Yes Dunkley's requested a trade twice, but i havent heard him sook and he's turned up and applied himself professionally for the past 2 seasons.

The issue with Tomlinson is that the Dees obviously want his salary off the books to help bring in Grundy and fill other holes. I know we need to worry about our own needs but I don't want to take someone on that will seriously help the Dees achieve their list management objectives.
How about we help and take Grundy and save them the stress?

Didn’t take your right to deny?

“The Herald Sun and Sky News are top of the line investigative companies then?”

Was your question, something I never actually wrote.

FWIW, no, I don’t believe The Herald Sun and Sky News are top of the line investigative companies.

Can we move on now?

We can move on but you are missing the key "I assume you think" which is not putting words in your mouth it is questioning what is there

It's be amazing if Brisbane poached Bevo.

Dunks would love the reuniting with his master.
Ha ha wouldn't worry Dunks at all.

Despite the culture rhetoric and media upbeats, he really just wants to be in Qld.

Wish he'd come out and said that in the first place.

Dunkley is absolutely no where near Griffen levels, even Higgins level of merc

Yes Dunks had his head turned last 2 years, was kept to his contract, played decent footy when not injured or playing out of position and now is free to explore his options as far as I'm concerned with his contract wound down. Imo he will be guaranteed a set midfield role at Brisbane or Port, wherever he ends up at, something Bevo only offered him part time. Here he was always behind Libba, Macrae and Bont in the pecking order, hopefully with Dunks leaving sees opportunity for your Rhylee West types now.

Griffen however was the captain and walked out on his club at absolute rock bottom, he can always gagf as long as I'm breathing, captains don't walk out on clubs leaving them on the brink in the process, we were lucky Bob, Bevo and a few others steadied the ship, it could've been far different.

I don't doubt the report but There's still has to be due process, if not why bother having the court system.
You don't think the report has gone through what you would describe as 'due process'?
A report is not a conviction, they held to differing standards of proof.
The article did note that Fagan and Clarkson were contacted for comment prior to release.

Makes you wonder if north were aware of this report before hiring Alistair or if they were made aware of it by Alistairs management.

Tim started well but had a poor end to the year by his early standards ,with injuries again playing a part .

Sweet was apparently sounded out by other clubs in late 2021, before signing on again with us and having a very average year . Even his VFL form became an issue.

If Stef Martin was brought in to speed our rucks development, I’d like to have seen Sweet as a genuine option, English showing consistent signs of greatness and Martin retired.

Once again I’m not blaming Stef Martin for this . But I’m yet to see evidence of his supposed ‘player/coach’ role having a noticeable difference.
Sweet was concussed early, then crook. When he did play I thought his tap work showed a lot of promise. Just needs more influence around the ground. He’s still young and should be persevered with unless we get in a Grundy type.

Geeez I’d love a seperate thread for all the Dunkley chat. He’s no longer contracted, wants to leave so we move on. Makes no difference the reason.
As for the Treloar quips, he seems to love the club and comes across as a super loyal player. He was played out of position often but busted his guts for us. Maybe Dunks leaving opens up more midfield minutes. He’s a class act.

No it hasn't yet, but people on this board are already making their minds up.
My job involves safety investigations, so quite different from this investigation.
But once a incident is reported, you perform your initial investigation with the evidence and facts available.
You produce a preliminary investigation.
But that is all it is, its not till you get facts from subject matter expects, corroborate evidence and statements from other witnesses, and then produce a final investigation.
So this abc investigation is just at the preliminary stage.

Players who are leaving, with the exceptions of retirement, don’t go to the B&F. I don’t expect to see Dunks there.
I'm pretty sure Callan Ward went to the B&F the year he left... however I could be imagining that... Ward was very young when he left and everybody had a soft spot for him and it was very hard to hate him...
What will be awkward will be when Dunks finishes top 3 and gets up to speak if he is there... Jesus! pin drop city!

Yeah the Dunks chat is borrrrring, at least until trade week and proper discussion heats up.

What are the thoughts on Bowes, we know it hasn’t been the easiest environment to develop in and have seen good high draft picks who have struggled on the GC flourish elsewhere like Brodie this year. Obviously has talent, believe there’s been some injury concerns too? Good age, inside/outside midfielder with good skills who has played a little defence for GC.

Can’t say I know much about him but can he be that cheap defensive small we’re craving? Most good defenders at AFL level were juniors mids
