Man I miss Deadeye. Weightman quietly approached his goal to behind ratio this year though. 78% goal accuracy, second highest of anyone who kicked over 20 goals.

Weird having someone with genuine forward craft in the forward line, wasnt it? Right place, right time.

I thin Marra has the craft as well, and this will be the year he will cash in on it.

So when does the DFA window close? Can only assume there's nothing doing.

When does the delisted free agency period start?

The likes of Jed Anderson, Martin Frederick and Quinton Narkle have two windows to find new clubs as free agents

DELISTED free agents will have two windows and a total of 12 days to move ahead of the NAB AFL Draft if they can secure a contract from a new club.
The first delisted free agency period runs for seven days from November 3-9.
That window is followed by a deadline on November 10 for players to retire and out-of-contract players to nominate for the draft, with a second window for delisted free agents then running from November 11-15.
WHO'S CALLED IT QUITS 2022's retirements and delistings
Players who have been delisted by their clubs have the freedom to join any rival that offers them a contract during these two periods, avoiding the need to enter the draft.
Among the delisted free agents who could seek new homes are former North Melbourne midfielder Jed Anderson, ex-Port Adelaide speedster Martin Frederick, and Quinton Narkle, who has garnered interest since being delisted by Geelong.

Delisted players cannot immediately be re-contracted by their clubs on rookie contracts as has happened previously and must instead go through the NAB AFL Rookie Draft on November 30 to achieve this.
Another key date on the trade and draft calendar is October 17-November 15, which is the window for clubs to trade draft picks, which is now open.
The first round of the NAB AFL Draft is then held on November 28, including father-son and Academy bidding.

Swan Districts product and former Western Bulldogs defender Brad Lynch is set to train with Essendon as he looks to revive his AFL career.

The West Australian understands Lynch, 25, has been invited to train with the Bombers on a three-month contract as he looks to earn a spot on the list through the pre-season supplemental selection perioddespite only playing for Broadbeach in the Queensland Australian Football League this year.

Lynch played nine games with the Bulldogs between 2016 and 2020 - all of which came in 2018 - after being drafted as a rookie from Swan Districts, playing in a VFL premiership with Footscray reserves in his first year at the club.
He signed on to play with Southport in 2021, playing just five games that season for the Sharks, including a two-goal, 18-disposal performance against Brisbane’s reserves side in round 13.

Lynch signed with Broadbeach Cats this year, with sources saying he was not allowed to play in the VFL because of his reluctance to get vaccinated for COVID-19.
Playing in the midfield and across half-back, Lynch helped Broadbeach to a grand final, which they lost to Aspley in September.

Broadbeach coach Craig O’Brien said he was a matchwinner for the Cats and no one could match up on him in the QAFL.

“The level of footy here he was a bit too sharp for because he seemed to be ahead of the game,” he said.

“Skill-wise he is up to the AFL level, it doesn’t matter whether he kicks left or right. And he’s up the fitness level.“He’s been in the AFL before, but this time he’s a bit more mature and up to it.
Brad was part of the leadership which helped him because when he came to us because he was a bit disheartened with footy because of what happened with COVID, but the responsibility brought the best out of him.”

If Lynch does not get picked up by Essendon, then he is likely to return to WA to play for Swan Districts as one of their big recruits.

Swans have already signed former Geelong VFL co-captain Jackson McLachlan, while key position player Jesse Glass-McCasker has returned after playing for Carlton’s VFL side in 2022.

Former Swan medallist Frank Anderson has also committed to playing in 2023 after recovering from a knee reconstruction that sidelined him for the year.

Love Brad Lynch. Thought he was going to be a star....

I thought the some but for whatever reason it never worked out
Played a ripper night game against Geelong and met him at the 2017 Xmas function..
Also was really disappointed we did not give him the same opportunities and support that some others on the current list have had..
Best wishes Stephen and Mrs S.
Ps not sure Bombers suits , but if home we will see you at swannies.

Dalrymple reckoned he was the most skilled player he brought to the Dogs in his time. I was a big fan. For whatever reason it didn't work out.

Knowing why it didn't work out given what went on between the ears (not a dumb or bad bloke, just a strange, strange unit), it does not surprise me whatsoever that he's antivax

Looks like we or no other club had interest in him
I guess we got the last laugh. Adelaide bid on Marra to stop us drafting him, and wasted a pick, and robbed their pick of being the number one player and banking the $10,000.

And I'm not disappointed with getting Dom Bedendo instead. Kid's got promise.

Nah, doesn't necessarily mean that. Gotta sign somewhere in case you don't get picked up. Plenty of players sign at state level then get rookied, it's just the way it is.

Cheeky way how Second Tier clubs get cash from the AFL when they get drafted
