If he played a full season I’d back him to kick 30.

Ok maybe he’s not better, but I don’t think there is a massive gap in their talents to where you’d have to overpay to get one in vs delisting the other.
He's played twice as many games for a reason, Yes he's 2 years older however Schache was gifted games early in his career and Lobb wasn't the gap between the pair is large. I keep seeing "if Schache had a full year he'd kick 30 goals" that would require him to not continually throw in shocking performances which he seems incapable of

Seriously why would they chase a player when they have no assets to satisfy the club. I don’t think Brisbane as a club are difficult to deal with, unlike Essendon, so you would expect they have something in mind to offer us that is decent otherwise they are wasting everyone’s time.

I tend to agree with the poster who said Dunks might be dangling Port and Brisbane to see who can get a deal done. I would prefer Port, they have more assets of interest.
Don't be surprised if we get a deal similar to this - Kai Lomhan, Darcy Wilmot & Lions first pick, for Dunkley & our last couple of picks to help with their points situation.

Lobb is 4 years older

Lobb kicked 36 goals this year and played Ruck minutes. Would you back Schache in to kick 37+?

Yes this season he has but career wise he has played around 140 games and kicked just as many goals so he averages around 1 goal a game between the age of 23 to 29.

I would look at all his seasons rather than 2022 alone especially at the age of 30.

As long as he come cheap take him because there a plenty players that average 1 goal a game

The main differences are Lobb is good enough in the ruck to be a first ruck and he is an elite contested mark, and Schache is neither of those things.

He would be great on a wing. Provide a huge point of difference.
This is exactly what I would do. Grundy as No. 1 ruck with English as his backup but give English a wing role and complete freedom of movement. Imagine Timmy floating back to defense. Teams would try to expose English for pace on the wing but they'd have to choice other than be forced to matchup a taller opponent on him.

I'd much rather Grundy at $700k than Lobb at $500k but we all know it would never happen.

Two draftees in their first year? They'd offer draft capital for a bunch of later picks for points given the uncontracted status
What type of draft capital do you think they'd offer and do you think it would be enough to satisfy us?

It really would be a weapon to have him float up & down. I keep saying this, being 2nd ruck doesn’t mean he sits at full forward all day. He’s a unique player, there’s no other player in the comp that matches his skillset, so why not a unique role? There’s no example of players playing a different role he could play but there’s no examples of players with his skillset.

Get creative with it. He’s got the tank to run up and down all day so you can have him push forward and back as a marking target, marking target coming out of defence and allow Naughty to hit up more dangerous positions in the corridor rather than always leading out to the boundary of Timmy’s already got that covered.

Could definitely work

Probably the closest comparison is Blicavs. Tall enough to Ruck, but athletic and skilled enough to fill any number of roles.

Anyone read the article about Freo looking at Jackson as a hybrid inside mid/ruck? No reason we can’t be equally creative with English

Difference is Blicavs would win the AFL 10k time trail. Has has elite stamina.

English while mobile does not have the stamia for a position like wing. Yet I do think he could play CHB is trailed there.
