I can't see us getting two firsts. I reckon it'll just be next years first and that's best case scenario.
There is two firsts and then there is two firsts. Two late firsts is only equal to one early-to-mid first, which is Dunks value imo

Yeah, I just don't see it happening.

Brisbane are in the box seat here as Dunkley has nominated them and he's out of contract. We will no doubt get some of our wants, but not all. We are going to have to compromise somewhere along the way.

We also have to do a trade with Freo too and they might want pick 29/37 used in the deal for Lobb also.
Freo want more than pick 29. Especially they’re likely about to get screwed for Logue.

Decent article on the Herald Sun going with us likely having to cop Brisbane’s 2023 1st round and their 2022 2nd round (mid in 30s.

That’s not ideal but I agree that we’ll prob need to accept that.

Also going with pick 29 for Lobb.

It's a pretty shit trade. Making a team stronger and then hoping that they decline is something that I will never get behind..

Hope the players feel unloved.

Doubt it - they'll all be at the B&F back slapping him like they did to Ward that year.

Be nice if there were more Chris Grant f-off to T Wallace types at the club.

They’re well placed sure but box seat not really neither team has any leverage over the other here hence why it’s one that will be don’t fairly easily with the main focus being around them getting points and us getting early picks

I posted it earlier. He did those things absolutely. But he's a slow, blunt instrument, if he didn't do those things he wouldn't be a seen as a good player.

He didn't lay shepherds or blocks for teammates and he rarely gave the ball off to teammates in better positions preferring to blind kick or look for Treloar. Watch Libba or Bont as an example of someone who does this, often forgoing bigger numbers for the betterment of the team.

Then there's the refusal to play roles that were better for the team either forward or pinch hitting in the ruck. Whatever your feelings on these moves Bont and Macrae do so with minimal fuss. When it was Dunkley he's playing it out in the media.

These are not the actions of a player with a team/club mindset. Now that's fine, there's all types and we certainly benefited from his play over the years but to say he gave his all for the club is not true. He gave his all for himself.

Fair enough. Can't say I ever questioned his comittment on field. Obviously I'm not a fan of his mercenery work in the offseason but always thought he gave his all when on field.

Why don’t we just strengthen the backline rather than put the Que in the rack? Our 22 will still be strong through the midfield over the next few years and our fwd line is on a huge trajectory. Would be silly looking to the future now.

I just can't see us trading in high quality defenders. I would prefer us use our picks on talented kids so they all come through together.

I'm a bit concerned the loss of Dunkley will expose the midfield a bit defensively too.

Some of the comments on here about Dunkley are embarrassing and quite frankly reek of people having a good ole sook.

The guy gave his absolute all in all aspects of the game and also off the field. If you doubt this and are currently sitting there behind your keyboard munching on some Doritos and downing a Mountain Dew then you need to have a good look at yourself.

Its a professional league and players move on. Disappointing but you need to look forward.

In this thread there’s talk that the midfield’s ageing and the club should bank picks for the future even though the club hasn’t fielded an experienced team for 11 years. Good teams are always rebuilding and topping up at the same time.

Look at Richmond had their period got a lot of early picks this year and next and will top up in FA no reason why we can’t set ourselves up and do the same

Amazing how many people don’t seem to comprehend that!

Guess it's down too how important it is too him to be closer to family. If that is really the case which club shouldn't matter to much.
As we all know though that is a fiction so we really only have Lions to deal with, such an underwhelming hand to fut a deal with

A good sook is quite cathartic at times.
