I'd say something likeHe won't leave for peanuts,
We either get something for him or pay him out
You can’t kidnap the players and make them nominate you.
Not sure how much more ruthless we could have been offering a 4.5 million contract to a 30 year old.
Outside of offering a competitive contract and pitching to the player there’s not a whole lot more you can do if they don’t want to nominate.
What have you heard that we offered? If you knew the real.story of what we offered in trade you wouldn't say that. We couldn't have done anymore.

I wasn't talking just about Wilkie, Hawthorn clearly wanted Barrass more then we did for example. But in Wilkie's case, perhaps he wasn't sure we would get the deal done because we wouldn't trade him in at all costs. We don't know the exact reason. I was also thinking if we offered that deal earlier in the season, the Saints may have thought twice about bringing in Silvagni on that amount of money after upping Wilkie's payment.
Think it's pretty fair to at least ask some strong questions of our list management team since they let us down often.
I believe a big problem is that Bevo doesn't want to meet players during the season because of some sense of fairness or something like that. Sam Mitchell has been meeting players during the season to get them to consider Hawthorn so by the time the trade period comes around the Hawthorn deal is all they think about.
There's meeting players which I believe Bevo does and then there is Sam Mitchell flying out to Perth mid week to sweet talk Barrass or meeting with Merrett the week of a finals game.I believe a big problem is that Bevo doesn't want to meet players during the season because of some sense of fairness or something like that. Bevo has definitely changed his tone since the Barrass ordeal. He's probably realised that integrity gets you nowhere in the AFL and the most successful clubs will continue to be the most ruthless when it comes to player acquisitions.Didn’t he meet with Rowell mid season?
You don't improve your defensive profile by bringing in more forward attacking focused midfielders.Anyone interested in Petracca?
Not really no,Anyone interested in Petracca?
Didn’t he meet with Rowell mid season?
Im happy to over pay but it needs to be for the right player, I was more then happy offering Wilkie 1.4M for example. I'm even happy for an increased offer for Butts but not for an injury prone Jsos or a 27Y/O Tylar Young who can't nail down a best 23 spot in the tigers team.
I wouldn’t be against asking about Concetta. Minimum chips, can definitely shut down a rampant mid and has a little bit of campaigner in him.
we all know if he does actually pull his head in and give it a go he will kill it!I can’t help but think this is Hardwick’s ego at play here, get one over Bevo, by turning him around.
I reckon its just a case of Dimma thinking that lightning can strike twice in the same place under his guidance.I can’t help but think this is Hardwick’s ego at play here, get one over Bevo, by turning him around.
Apparently Wilkie was meant to have a meeting with Bont but didn’t get to that point
Sort of good news for us. If Sanders does take the Tassie bait, I feel reasonably confident of walking away with something like pick 7 or 11.![]()
Draft picks galore, $5m sign-on pool: Tasmania's list build rules revealed
The AFL's 19th club, Tasmania, will have access to a huge array of concessions as it builds its inaugural listwww.afl.com.au
Depends on his contract status I think as if he’s uncontracted they can get him as a free agent and we just get a compo pickSort of good news for us. If Sanders does take the Tassie bait, I feel reasonably confident of walking away with something like pick 7 or 11.
GCS chasing Jamarra is a head scratcher.
Even if JUH turns it around, he’s just stifling the development of Walter.
And with plenty of speculation regarding Ben Kings long term future, they would be better off getting Curnow, instead of someone whose about 5% of turning this around.
